Jensen Huang has responded to the comments calling DLSS 5 AI slop: "First of all, they're completely wrong. The reason for that is because, as I have explained very carefully, DLSS 5 fuses controllability of the geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI. It’s not post-processing, it’s not post-processing at the frame level, it’s generative control at the geometry level." He has also added: "This is very different than generative AI; it’s content-control generative AI. That’s why we call it neural rendering" What are your thoughts on this?

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang confirms DLSS 5 is not post processing or an upscaler, but generative AI being utilized at the geometry level. A literal AI slop filter on top of games, the very thing the yes-men have been denying since it got announced. This is inherently anti-art.

@shoes_god I'm sorry if it seemed like I tried to dodge your question. I've just never heard the argument that pre-orders affect the quality of the game and have a hard time seeing how it would, but I would love to hear how that might be the case.

@hellriiser That's not really answering my question, then. From the sound of it, you understand that Pre-orders benefit the publishers and sellers in ways that don't reflect any assurance of quality for the would be pre-orderees, which is the argument of people who discourage pre-orders.

All of this being said, publishers insisting that entire parts of the game should be taken out to only be given as pre-order rewards, that is scummy no matter how you twist and turn it, but I don't think that's inherintly a pre-order issue and more of a DLC issue.
