I know how insecure you must be feeling about Iyer at this point. I'll never forget how Kohli used to put up Instagram stories and seemed to share a good bond with you. You were always the first one to initiate that bond licking him. But as soon as you got the captaincy, you started repeating the same line in every interview: "We don't play for personal milestones, this team is different."
Kohli has the greatest milestones in this format and has won more matches than anyone. You knew that calling out "personal milestones" would indirectly target him not because he plays for them, but because he happens to hold all those records. Yet you never stopped and kept pushing that narrative.
I know what kind of person you are. You did all that to strengthen your own claim as the greatest T20I batter, despite not performing in a single major tournament.

MCD got the captaincy by riding on Rohit and bashing minnows, despite having zero performances in T20 World Cups and now acts as if he earned it purely on merit.
