@itsathing as a non pet owner, I am wondering about a thing I've been seeing on a LOT of ig reels (TikTok's redheaded stepsibling): dogs "talking" to their owners via elaborate mats with buttons that each play a word or short phrase. How is this a thing?

@zkam That's the way 10 and 2 was explained to me too. I think the ideal position is kind of partway between so it's just a change in which way to express it. 10 and 2 might make people cheat toward 11 and 1 which would be too high.

@itsathing Yes, I meant 9 and 3. It's barely a change, but it allows you to quickly turn the wheel 180° and back without letting go, to avoid something in your lane without braking (and thus skidding). Assuming the lane next to you is open. (BTW Tom said "6 and 9" first 😉 which threw me)

@itsathing If you take an advanced defensive driving course, you'll learn that you should place your hands at "9 and 6", not at "10 and 3" as most people are taught.
