@MrRoivas @TheMightyHams @blankslate2017 Then you are garbage too bc israel rapes prisoners too, as did the US in the ME. I want people to have the right to self-determination and equal rights. Between Israel and Hamas, one is on the side of a people's right to self-determination. It is not unwavering support.

@maxb152 @TheMightyHams @blankslate2017 You’re the one who’s trying to introduce complexity to your support of sex traffickers and the sex slaves they traffic in. This is simple. You are simply garbage.

It would be a lot easier if the left would push for a 2SS instead of its current muddled position. They're only focused on demonizing Israel as rogue state, but have no solutions (other than re-litigating 1948). It's a dead end.
Brian Tashman@briantashman

Notes on this Ezra Klein Show episode - Israel is an apartheid state now, not turning into one - Israel’s “moderate” politicians are as racist and violent as Israel’s govt - Pro-Israel arguments rely on an “eternal sunshine of the spotless mind where history started yesterday”

@MrRoivas @TheMightyHams @blankslate2017 Again. Israel does the same thing. Neither are morally good (Hamas or Israel). I want innocent Palestinians to stop dying, and they are being killed by Israel. Why is this so complex. Left-leaning people dont want islamic states, but they first want states to self-govern.

@TheMightyHams @MrRoivas @blankslate2017 For every clip like this there is another one proving the opposite. The truth may be very complicated but clearly there is severe inequality. Israel will not get support from any US left-leaning political party until this is addressed.

@TheMightyHams @MrRoivas @blankslate2017 Numerous humans rights organizations have called out Israel as being an apartheid state. Not sure what people should think. I guarantee if the deal is Palestinians get to rule Gaza and WB without military restriction it would be accepted but that is not the deal offered.

@maxb152 @MrRoivas @blankslate2017 That’s not true at all. The 2S supported by people who believe Israel has a right to continue existing is that Israel continues as it is now (Arab citizens have equal rights), but then the West Bank and Gaza become a state as long as they recognize Israel and leave it alone.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 Theres a lot of evidence of rape in israeli prisons. Hamas, Hezbollah were created as rebel groups fighting israeli occupation. Just because individual soldiers have done things (which are abhorrent) does not change the orgs aims. The goal of these orgs are freedom.

@maxb152 @blankslate2017 People who own sex slaves aren’t fighting for equality. People who support sex slavers aren’t either. That has literally never happened.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 You must be against Israel too then? People just want the people in the ME to be able to self-determination and be treated equally in their govt. Israeli Arabs, Lebanese and Palestinians dont have this. Currently, the main groups fighting for this are Hamas and Hezbollah.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 it is the lesser of two evils, with a focus on delivering for the civilians in that country. Hamas is the revolutionary org in Palestine, as was the Taliban in Afghanistan. The idea is to support the group that is fighting for the people of that land. There is no perfect solution

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 Define cheering? Think critically. The support is based off of the situation these groups are in. They support Iran > US in this war, Hamas > israel in the current oppressive system, Cuba > US in US sanctions. The support is not endless, it is comparative and situational.

@maxb152 @blankslate2017 This is fucking hilarious when the most visible and promoted leftists like Hasan constantly are cheering on deeply repressive governments like Cuba, Russia and yes, Iran. Not to mention terrorists like the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 What do you mean? Leftist support for a country's govt is based mostly off of how that country treats its people (equal treatment, etc.). Leftists dont like Iran or Saudi Arabia govts. Israel falls in this category too, because leftists dont support ethnostates.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 The og tweet was "why arent leftists pro-2S" and I said why (no equal rights in the current 2S soln). If you want leftist US support (which is currently leading US public thought on this issue) you need a soln that addresses this. Iran does not have US support for this reason.

@maxb152 @blankslate2017 They have them. Not perfectly, as is the case in literally *every* democracy whose history didn’t conveniently dispose of troubling diversity. But imperfect equality is accepted as normal elsewhere and anathema in only (((one))) country.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 What is your argument? Do israeli arabs and jews both deserve equal rights in the state of Israel? And if your answer is no then you answered my original question, as leftists are not okay with any 2S soln that does not address this issue. That is why they support the 1S.

@maxb152 @blankslate2017 How do you think Poland became 97% ethnic Pole? It wasn’t by polite invitation. Pretty easy to offer the same rights on paper when everyone left after some *conveniently* abandoned land leaves only Poles. Ask the Romani what that’s like.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 israeli should not be a state for only jews, it should be a state for israelis just like poland is. These are very different. That means israeli jews and arabs have equal treatment. we have seen over and over again the lack of equal treatment in israel.

@maxb152 @blankslate2017 Israel is a Jewish state in the same way Poland is a Polish state. And unlike Poland, Israel manages to be so without being 97% monoethnic.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 You are focusing on "expulsion", I am focused on the idea of a "Jewish State", as in state FOR jews. Israel should be a place where jews can live and be safe, but it needs to also equally treat non-jews from the area as well which current 2S solutions do not address.

@maxb152 @blankslate2017 No, it wouldn’t be. And find a single proposal for two states negotiated at various points that spoke of expelling all Israeli Arabs. You won’t be able to.

@Jayy_Hardyy252 @KevinOlmsted1 @AKemps93 It is 100% overreacting. it is reacting to unverified sources when nobody has no idea what is going on. Give it time to play out, maybe we pivoted to other players we like more. Apparently the funding is there, and reacting before players have even committed is not smart.

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 The 2S proposal of a separate "Jewish" and "Muslim" state parroted by zionists. That requires either displacement or continued apartheid. Keeping a 2S where muslims and jews have equal rights/repr under law in Israel even if it is 70% jew would be good with leftists I would guess

@MrRoivas @blankslate2017 From what I can tell 1S means Israel + WB + Gaza become one state, vs 2S means Israel separate from WB + Gaza. You cant have a 2S and just kick out every non-jew from israel into palestine. That is the issue, I have not seen serious 2S solutions that address the issues at hand.

@epnohelty Just 100% wrong. bam / Wiggins /powell / Mitchell / Kasparas / Giannis / Larson > any team bucks can put together. it may not be a contender but it is sure as hell closer than the bucks are/can potentially be. Turner /Rollins / KPJ is not a good core, it actually is very bad.

Can someone explain to me why Giannis would want to do this? Assuming the trade is Herro / Ware / JJJ / 4 firsts that leaves the Heat with: Bam / Wiggins / Powell + no tradeable 1sts. He could stay in Milwaukee and have: Turner / Rollins / KPJ + lottery pick and 2 future 1sts to trade Unless its purely about getting out of Milwaukee I think staying in Milwaukee is pretty clearly the better basketball option.
Ti Windisch@TiWindisch

Heat sit at 13 in the 2026 draft pre lottery. Could trade that pick and three future firsts plus three swaps if they get Charlotte to amend the 27 pick to unprotect it. Four firsts and three swaps on top of the young players in Miami makes an enticing Giannis offer imo
