Correct. The CPC wasn't founded on ideals or a political philosophy, unlike the Conservatives of old.
The CPC was founded on fraud, driven by craven opportunism and cynicism.
Their fake outrage over perceived ethical lapses is always risible, no matter the issue at hand.

CPC was founded on a dirty backroom deal, when Peter MacKay, running for PCPC leadership, cut a deal with David Orchard for his support, where MacKay offered that he would not seek a merger with Harper. He promptly betrayed that deal and cut a new deal with Harper, creating CPC.
