I highly recommend this book “Classical Architecture’s African Roots” by architect David Muñiz Supple. It goes into great detail on the African (yes, Black people) origins of what modern people consider classical architecture and design. The Odyssey naysayers need to read this

However this was mostly the ruling class, and not the people as a whole. The rulers were still Nubian. They were eventually defeated.
