@nAAYf I have one question. Maldivians celebrate yes, but have they gathered in a group of 50,000 and gone around the streets screaming at the top of lungs to celebrate the World Cup victory of another country? Cant there be better ways for expats to celebrate that don’t involve that?

Maldives has never been close to qualifying for the world cup. Yet, it's a carnivale atmosphere everytime. As it should be.
But heaven forbid the slave labour enjoy & celebrate.

If you say they can’t behave like this in the Maldivian streets, it will be called xenophobia. The hell. These expats numbers are alarming and they need to be contained. They can’t behave like this in Maldivian streets. The streets are not for creating this nuisance.

we literally have political protests that are much more of a nuisance to general public almost every other day but nobody seems to be bothered by that… this is xenophobia, nothing less. Maldivians are out on the roads, watching, cheering and celebrating world cup as well.
