That's all great and all, but for example, on the web browser, I can remove followers. If I notice people who are clearly bots or are engaging with my posts in ways that don't seem legitimate, I'm able to remove them. Why can't I do the same thing from my phone? The X mobile app doesn't seem to give me that option.

Bots targeting blue-check accounts is a common complaint. The paid verification boosts visibility and reach, which draws automated networks farming follows/likes to game metrics or sell fake engagement. X has stepped up detection and removals, but it's a constant arms race. The check's original purpose was identity verification for notable accountsโ€”the subscription shift changed the incentives. Report suspicious clusters via the app to help the filters improve. Real connections from people into education and games will always matter more than the noise.

@X it seems my new followers and likes are all bots. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I don't think this is what the blue check mark was for.

One of my big summer projects is something I've been thinking about for quite a while. As someone who enjoys video games, writes about them from time to time, and reads a lot of reviews, I've often found myself confused by review scores. One outlet gives a game a 5/10, another gives it a 9/10, and sometimes it's hard to understand how they arrived at those conclusions. That got me thinking: what if there was a simple, transparent rubric that reviewers could use to explain how they evaluated a game? As an educator, I'm used to rubrics. They help students understand expectations and help teachers explain grades. I'm wondering if a similar approach could work for video game reviews. My goal is to create a review framework under the Learning Arcade banner that anyone could use or adapt. Not to replace personal opinions, but to make the reasoning behind a review easier to understand. Right now, I'm exploring questions like: โ€ข What categories should every game be evaluated on? โ€ข Should different genres have different criteria? โ€ข Should the final result be a score, a rating, or a recommendation? โ€ข How detailed should a review rubric be before it becomes too much work to use? I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you have ideas, leave a comment below or send me a DM. And if you know someone who writes reviews, whether on Substack, YouTube, a blog, or elsewhere, please share this note with them. I'd love to gather as many perspectives as possible before building the first version. Who knows? Maybe together we can create something useful for both reviewers and readers. #Reviews #VideoGames
