Yan Diomande is nowhere near the level of left wingers like Ndiaye & Khvicha Kvaratskhelia if we’re talking top-tier quality.
A lot of fans pushing his name aren’t doing it for the right reasons. He simply isn’t technical enough at the level we’re trying to compete at.
Some support seems driven more by where he’s from (Africa) than what he actually offers on the pitch.
At the end of the day, recruitment should be about quality, not geography. We need the best players available not selections based on sentiment

Ruben Amorim had us comfortably leading these metrics earlier this season.
We were top in xA, shots on target, total shots, and more.
Since the shift to Carrick’s style, that’s dropped off badly.
Right now, we’re not leading in anything. If anything, the performances have declined across the board.
The worrying part is the results don’t even reflect how poor the football has been. We’ve been getting away with it.

@NoushardMUFC I’m not saying he hasn’t regressed but you can’t call him proficient, he wasn’t. It’s as simple as that. Mbeumo had a decent go but he regressed long before carrick came along. Mbeumo had 7g/a under Amorim and 5g/a under carrick so not much difference and Sesko/cunha are better

Accounting is far important than managing in football. If I’m an owner of a football club, and I want to employ a manager who doesn’t have those qualifications, people behind desks, many of whom have never done any real coaching in their life, shouldn’t be able to stop me. Coaching licenses are the biggest con going. Thousands and thousands they cost and don’t give any indication as to your actual quality as a coach.
They’re there to tick a box and doesn’t give any indication as to whether you can actually coach and lead people.
The only reason I’d ever get my UEFAs is if I decide I want to be a manager in the future, because again, you apparently need this stupid box ticked. Makes no sense whatsoever that it’s a requirement.
