@rgoddes @likeihavetime2 My first thought weirdly enough was Gowan (I think I'm around your age--in the US but he opened for a show here in 83 and I was HOOKED) then I thought maybe Brian Adams. Either way, I also get it, for similar reasons with some hardcore fandoms in the 80s and 90s.

The only time I remove myself completely from an artist I love us when they do something so bad there's no coming back from it. Hate speech abuse actually unaliving someone. But if it's because of the music they are putting out people really need to let the artist try+

@rgoddes The resentment is one problem. They begin to resent them for it and resent those who are still fans because they can't understand how we are okay with it and they aren't. So they lash out at the group, at the fans. "If I can't still enjoy them, nobody can" type of vibes.

@rgoddes Sounds like my feelings for Bryan Adams. His early music still means the world to me and concerts in the 80s and 90s were awesome! But now? I didn’t even know he released a new album. We as people change so why do we expect artists we follow to NOT change and grow?
