We’re getting ready to build a raised garden outside. The kids love seeing the seedlings grow every day and we turn them every few hours to see how they stretch toward sunlight. Here’s a time lapse of about 2.5 hours as they reach for the sun. Pretty cool.

I think statistics and machine learning are very different fields. Statistics is the art of deriving logically valid inferences from data. Machine learning is the art of deriving inferences from data, but these inferences don't need to be logically valid.

My children constantly set challenges for themselves (can I climb that? what would it be like if i could fly?) ML community says: if you haven't made a benchmark for me, prepackaging a training set and test items, your challenge doesn't exist. #LIfeIsNotaKaggleCompetition
