Today Iran's retaliatory strikes hit an AWS datacenter in the UAE. Objects struck the facility - sparks, fire, entire availability zone offline.
AWS me-central-1 down. Not because of a software bug or misconfiguration. Because of a military strike.
This is the cloud risk nobody puts on their migration slides. "99.99% uptime" doesn't account for geopolitics. If your backups sit in the same region as your primary, you don't have backups - you have a single point of failure with extra steps.
Geo-redundancy across stable jurisdictions isn't paranoia. It's the minimum.

@sussexdaily That is truly sad. But its important to remember: If you have enough money your grave can be *way* bigger than everyone else's.

@CryptoNobler Crypto math? If it goes from 60k to 150k or even 1500k, $100 will still not equal $10,000

@ChampionsOTIce2 @blightersort You learned the wrong lesson. It's because the billionaires at the top prioritized share price over safety. Calling the people at Boeing idiots because you think 'DEI' is some kinda gotcha is peak MAGA. They want the aircraft to be safe, its the trump-like leadership to blame.
English

people are justly amazed at this but it’s important to remember SpaceX isn’t our only space company and by many metrics not even our most successful.
Boeing, e.g., is light years ahead on both amount spent and workforce diversity, both of which are key drivers of success.

Starship’s fifth flight test lifted off with our most ambitious test objectives yet as we work to demonstrate techniques fundamental to Starship and Super Heavy’s fully and rapidly reusable design. And on our first try, Mechazilla caught the booster → spacex.com/launches/missi…

@eyezenhour Even you should know this is a dishonest comparison created just for likes.
English

@BMeiselas Yeah definitely weather control by the democrats who are infinitely more powerful than anyone understands.
English

These MAGA people are truly batsh*t.
Their new lie/conspiracy theory is that the hurricanes during hurricane season are being created by Biden/Harris/the Deep State to prevent Trump voters from voting.
How did one moronic orange lunatic and social media break these people’s brains so severely?

English

@unplugfitX Yeah, yelling about immigrants eating cats and claiming his rallies were 'greatest rallies in the history of politics' definitely won over the independent voter who was looking vote for a whiny bitch who takes the bait every time.
English

Trump won this debate, but it was not a decisive victory.
He won by a hair.
This debate did very little to move independent or undecided voters over to vote for him.
All this debate did was solidify whatever position you had prior to the debate.
Trump missed many opportunities to destroy Kamala on immigration, guns, and foreign policy.
To Trump's defense, this was not fairly moderated by ABC as expected.
Kamala was not fact checked while Trump was on multiple occasions.
Also, there was line of questioning on Jan 6, Trump's comments on Kamala being black, and the Central Park 5.
These questions were designed to question Trump's credibility and had nothing to do with policy.
All these questions put Trump on the defense while Harris was not given any questions that would question her credibility.
Some questions ABC could have asked Kamala to be more impartial may have been questions on the current economy.
An economy she put into place as vice president.
Another question could have been on her flip flopping on policy, and or outright stealing Trump/Vance's policies (the $6k credit for families as originally Vance's policy).
All in all, this debate did little to impact the polls and though Trump won, I'm disappointed in Trump's performance.
This should have been a shutout, but many dems think Harris won and we did very little to convert undecided voters.
We need a decisive victory when the polling is so close, and we are less than 2 months from the election.

Unfortunately her endorsement will matter A LOT.
Taylor Swift's fanbase is overwhelmingly women with an IQ of 86 that lack critical thinking skills and think "Trump=bad misogynist".
Women are far more susceptible to propaganda than men are.
If we repealed the 19th and women didn't vote we wouldn't have to worry about Kamala being president.
Women vote on emotion, and celebs which is exactly what the democrats use in their campaigns.
Facts are facts.
TaraBull@TaraBull
Do you think Taylor Swift's endorsement will have an impact on the election?
English

Modern women are literally fiends for attention on social media.
This is going to backfire on us in 20-30 years when we see a spike in depression in women that are IG whores today.
It's not natural nor precedented that any human would get this level of attention with the most connected world we have ever had.
Just like with birth control and feminism, we thought it was a great idea at the time.
However, now we are realizing feminism and birth control ruined the family and created many other unforeseen problems in society today.
Social media will be no different.

@Dawnasher16 @JudgeJeanine Definitely vote for the ego. What could go wrong?
English

@JudgeJeanine Trump didn't do as well as he could have. He looked nervous and too much expression. But he has my vote. It's his ego is that drives him. He hates to look bad so he'll do the best job he can. Street smart and business savvy Harris lied as usual. She a nit wit

If the media were smart, they would have learned their lesson from 2016: NEVER underestimate Donald Trump. Instead, they chose to run with Kamala being the victor of this debate, as if it secures the election for her in November. The pundits are in full swing sucking up to Kamala, but Americans voters know that voting for her means another 4 years of the policies that got us here in the first place.
