You can fairly say a couple of Justices, on both ends of the Court, let their partisan priors warp their legal reasoning, but the Court is not partisan, the majority is not partisan, and the Chief is certainly not partisan. Criticize on other grounds

Makary is out. Now the US has no CDC Director, No FDA Commissioner, and no Surgeon General. And the NIH Director who is also defacto acting CDC Director never trained in Medicine. During this hantavirus outbreak the US needs steady public health leadership and a authoritative voice to the American people. There currently is no one to fill that role.

Is was long properly understood in America that Court packing amounts to a knife to the heart of of the Constitutional order and the rule of law. If the next Democratic White House does this, it will accelerate, not reverse, the damage Trump has done to our democracy.

The next Democratic White House does not need a court reform commission like some college seminar. We need action. We need term limits for Justices. We need to expand this morally bankrupt Court from 9 to 13.

@greggnunziata My man, the rule of law is dead - killed by the SC and its shadow docket. The new rule of law is that if it helps Republicans, it is OK. If it helps Democrats, it is not OK. If you don't believe me, check out how this SC has applied the Purcell principle.

Virginia should just redistrict again because the Commonwealth "unlawfully" created districts under Callais, and be done with it. This would be the easiest way to put @SenLouiseLucas' maps back on a firm footing-- hostile compliance with federal law.

This is the most damaging aspect of all of the redistricting decisions imho: instead of disputing the facts laid out meticulously by district courts (and in some cases Republican appointees), SCOTUS just dismissed them. It makes it look like they had a predetermined outcome.
