they’ve stopped being sacred and become idols. The founders of every major tradition fed the hungry first, healed the sick first, defended the outcast first then sermon, the temple came after. The law was bent when a life was on the line.

Religion gives us doctrine and sense of belonging. Humanity gives us the reason those things should exist at all. Faith is meant to serve people not the other way around but when it gives rules that ask you to ignore suffering, deny compassion, or choose purity over mercy
