lately i’ve been asking whoever’s in the ice cream aisle at the same time as me what their favourite flavour is and making that my pint of the week which has been a very mixed bag

@softboiled8 ideally my default would be jeni's lemon bar every time but it's so expensive when it's not on sale.. so i usually go for whatever fruit + dark chocolate combination the generic brand is carrying (mine has a really good raspberry chip)

and i was in the same boat until i went out of my way to watch a bunch of top 50 releases from several years it's just what the streaming era has resulted in. & i don't think it's a unilaterally bad or good thing either

maybe it's just selection bias but i havent found that film studies/adjacent undergrads are film illiterate so much that they're like weirdly well versed in stuff that would be considered wildly obscure a couple decades ago but theyve never seen when harry met sally

i love when people get on twitter and talk like theyre doing serious sociological analysis but theyre clearly basing these sweeping conclusions on whatever they saw online yesterday and also they have possibly never been outside before
