Today, we’re launching the latest Fairer Schools Index, which reveals how assessment of school performance shifts when pupil background is taken into account.
We are also calling on the Government to reinstate value-added measures to ensure fairer evaluations of school progress.

NEW: The unfair way the North's schools are marked down by the government's official progress measure has been laid bare in new analysis. When deprivation is taken into account regions eg the North East see their Progress 8 scores go up substantially but London's go down. 1/2
