@richardstampdev Sucks to see its just as hard finding roles with experience as it is without industry experience. Hope you land something soon, if not, considering taking junior's for your studio? Lol

"Too experienced" for my dream role I just spent six weeks interviewing for, not experienced enough for anyone else with the same opening. This is exhausting. Anyone interested in funding an indie studio at this point? I can put together an investment pitch.

Enjoyed working on this over the past 5 evenings: slammed.itch.io/lone-summer-ni… It was good to work in a genre that I don't usually play/make, I really liked the challenges of designing when I don't know all the tropes of a genre.

@mistiare_dev Yeah definetly, I think the hideous UE4 UI plays into that too haha.

@slammeddev For sure, the learning curve is there a bit for those that haven't used Unreal at all before but in reality I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as 4

I swear UE5 makes me feel like a development god, was stressed about needing to blend animations while moving and it took about 5 clicks to set up perfectly, so nice.

@mistiare_dev Yeah I agree, its so nice and helpful development, especially prototyping, feels so fast and, as far as game dev goes, is pretty pain free.

@slammeddev honestly I'm really happy with how much the engine does for you, been loving using it at work

Question to help guide my next game- in a 2v2 competitive multiplayer game with very small maps, would you prefer procedurally generated maps everytime or 10-15 handmade maps?

@Icehelmet Why should they stop? How is it giving the engine a bad name? I understand the whole legal aspect but doing it to either learn or just out of passion has no issues?

For everyone who's remaking old games like Mario and Zelda in unreal engine. Please don't, you're giving the engine a bad name and Nintendo won't hire you anyway.
