Jadi ternyata ada penelitian yang membahas mengenai mitos tersebut, judulnya adalah 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗻? Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjawab apakah memang perempuan lebih banyak berbicara dibandingkan laki-laki. Selain itu, penelitian ini melibatkan 396 peserta untuk direkam semua perkataannya selama 1 hari penuh dan dihitung berapa jumlah kata yang diucapkan dalam 1 hari. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ternyata laki-laki dan perempuan sama-sama berbicara dengan jumlah kata rata-rata 16.000 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶 Memang terdapat sedikit perbedaan jumlah kata, namun hanya sekitar 600-an kata, yang tidak berbeda signfikan.
