Juventus have received the fewest yellow cards of all teams in Serie A and it seems that Spalletti has a share in that statistic.
There is a significant change in the number of yellow cards from the time with Tudor until Spalletti takes over.
42 yellow cards in 33 matches have been recorded for Juventus in Serie A, - 17 of these came in the first 8 matches when Tudor was coach, which gives an average of 2.13 per match.
Under Spalletti, Juventus have only received 25 yellow cards in as many matches, - 1 yellow card per match and thus a halving.
The decrease in the number of yellow cards can be due to a few different factors.
• Spalletti may have changed the way the individual tackles and presses, - Tudor's style was very duel-oriented, while Spalletti may prefer to win the ball in other ways, for example by encouraging the players to break the ball's path more or avoid duels but seek out the second ball.
• Spalletti has certainly also changed the tension level to be more balanced, - many of you probably remember how Juventus under Tudor got a lot of "stupid red cards". Kalulu (Lazio), Yildiz (Monza) and Cambiaso (Parma)
• Last but not least, it may also be because Spalletti has managed to set up the team better defensively, so that the individual player gets into fewer problems during a match, simply because the support player by player is better.
The truth is that it is probably a good mix of all three parts ⚫️⚪️
