Meet the 2026 officers of the SRC! Dr. Eric Dunnum of Campbell University continues as the SRC Treasurer this year. Eric is a scholar of English Renaissance drama. His latest monograph is _Temporality and Alienation in the Works of Thomas Middleton_ (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025).

Meet the 2026 SRC officers! Dr. Jonathan Shelley of St. John Fisher Univ. now moves into the Past President office. Jonathan will spend time this year overseeing work on his MLA-funded Pathways Step project, which assists students from groups underrepresented in the humanities.

Meet the 2026 officers of the SRC, part II! This year's Vice-President is Professor Alexis Culotta of Tulane University. Dr. Culotta is a scholar of Renaissance art history. Her most recent monograph is _The Frescoed Façade in Renaissance Roman Visual Culture_ (2025).

Meet the 2026 officers of the Southeastern Renaissance Conference! This year's president is Dr. Matthew Carter of Clayton State University. Matt is a specialist in English Renaissance drama and co-editor of the collection _Boundaries of Violence in Early Modern England_.

The new issue of the SRC's official journal, _Renaissance Papers_, is out! Featuring the best papers presented at the 2024 conference (held at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina), it is a great way to start off the new year!

A belated congratulations to SRC member Jesse Russell, who presented the paper "Rejecting Giordano Bruno's Cosmology in Edmund Spenser's 'Two Cantos of Mutabilitie'" at the Sixteenth Century Society Conference in Portland, Oregon!

Helen Hull of Queens University brought SRC 2025 to a stimulating conclusion with her presentation "'My sovereign mistress clouded so': Sovereign Bodies and Sovereign Texts in Shakespeare's _The Winter's Tale_." We look forward to next year for SRC 2026 at the U. of Tennessee!

More from SRC 2025! In the concluding panel of the conference, Ilenia Colón Mendoza of the Univ. of Central Florida presented "The Use of Sculpture in the Theater of Calderón de la Barca."

SRC 2025 ended on a high note with the closing panel "Negotiating Sovereignty." Fayaz Kabani of Allen University opened the session with his paper "'No Sovereignty' or 'No, Sovereignty!': Stabilizing the Masculine Self in _The Tempest_."

At SRC 2025, Robert Epstein of Fairfield University rounded out the "Epic Traditions" panel with his paper "John Lane's Continuation of Chaucer's _Squire's Tale_: An Overlooked Epic of Stuart Absolutism."

On the panel "Epic Traditions" at SRC 2025, Jesse Russell of Georgia Southwestern State University presented "Edmund Spenser, John Dee, and the Making of the Poet-Magus."

The second day of papers at SRC 2025 started off with long-time SRC member Robert Lanier Reid (better known to his many friends as Robin Reid) and his presentation "Making a Masterpiece from a Train Wreck: _The Faerie Queene_'s Twelve Virtues of Perfection."
