@kadeen__ Government and private sector coming together. Britain does it through the tier system I suggested so the athletes get paid. It can done … Federations get funding for major championships for travel and board. Circiut money to travel from the funds they receive

@teewally Great.. where does the money come from.. how does this work for athletes that don’t live in Jamaica? cause like I shared.. countries with bigger teams and budgets don’t do this. They cover some of these for team travel.. not them competing on the circuit individually

Athletes performance award through grants that will support full-time training, access to elite coaching, medical services and travel costs for competition. Rank athletes in tiers (medal winners, potential for medal , talented athlete scholarship scheme etc) Gov and PS can fund.

So for those saying the country/associations should show appreciation to the athletes, how do you suggest they do that? Cause they got compensation for their performance in Paris. When it comes to sponsorship now, that’s a different story. Cause not even big farrin does that

People suggesting that athletes may face issues with their birth country should they choose to return; but in my mind it would be in the best interest of any Nat’l Assoc. to not play any such card. In fact this is an opportunity to improve athlete relations going forward.

@Kaydi_K @chantipantzi They are still Jamaicans by birth… that didn’t change. Based on my understanding of the switch they requested dual citizenship will represent Turkey instead of Jamaica .
