Johnson scores nine points in about two or three minutes. I don’t care how big he is. If a kid can fling it like that, he should have played more. Much more.

If Jeff Mittie can recruit a dominant, skilled post player — or find one in the portal — KState could be really good next season.

KState led 15-6 on a 3-pointer by Haggerty with 11 1/2 minutes to play and scored four points the rest of the half.

The Cats may be up by one, but 11 turnovers in 12 minutes likely will foreshadow another blowout loss.

I don’t care how many points he scores, Haggerty isn’t good when it matters. But he’s really good at scowling and calling attention to himself when he makes a shot. Not a player I enjoy watching at all.

#KStateMBB fans, if the only way to afford Tang’s buyout was to take a chance on a guy without D1 head coaching experience, would you support someone who is 52-4 the past two years and has a career winning percentage of nearly 70% in a decade-plus.

@Jamesbugman Completely agree. No player movement or ball movement, can’t rebound, can’t take care of the ball, can’t defend, can’t get to the free throw line … Other than that, they’re fine. They could learn a ton about offense just by watching Iowa State during their next film study.

Jerome Tang is a good man who clearly cares about his guys. And as a Christian, I love how public he is with his faith. All that said, you can’t say some of what he said. Fans do deserve an explanation. And if he’s not disappointed in his players, he recruited the wrong ones.

@kstatefanfirst Washburn’s Brett Ballard has the unbeaten, No. 1-ranked team in the country. I know he’s a KU Jayhawk, but he’s getting it done in impressive fashion. And I personally think it would add another level of fun to the rivalry. His teams would never look like this, I’m sure of that.

@timbisel I’m listening. Who are you referring to? This is painful for old guys like me who grew up watching well-coached Hartman teams.
