@torontobaghead Absolutely. This team has turned into a total clownshow since he arrived.

I keep seeing people dog piling on Keith Pelley—when the guy has tried his best—and I must say, it’s all 100% warranted.
Fleecing parents, raised ticket prices, canceled team outings, front office disarray, garbage roster, ChatGPT trade suggestions.
Embarrassing.

@TalkeyHockey I don’t blame him on bit. This front office is a joke. Based on the reports from this week, it’s even worse than any fan can imagine. The richest, most beloved hockey club in the world and it has become a Mickey Mouse, corporate pet project for a bunch of loser suits. Pathetic!

This is the first time Matthews has ever addressed a question about his future as a Leaf like this. It's always been a response including his love for Toronto, the Leafs, etc.
I don't think he's happy. Not because they missed the playoffs. He's not happy with front office.
Jesse Blake@JesseBlake
Auston Matthews was a little non-committal on the question on his future as a Maple Leaf. He emphasized that “I can’t really predict the future” when pressed. @sdpnsports

Craig Berube expects to be back next year as head coach of the Maple Leafs and hasn’t heard anything about that from higher up.
He says the Leafs still have a good core in place and that they could bounce back next year.
“There’s a good core here… I do believe we can bounce back.”

@GRAV1TYWAVE @mcclxskey Yes. Even if it’s only partly true, it’s a horrible look. Amateur hour for the most beloved professional hockey team in the world. The optics of this club are and always seem to be horrible more often than not. It’s tough being a fan of while this type of nonsense goes on.
English

@mcclxskey I’m gonna trust mirtle’s reporting here, especially since he’s not the only leafs journalist who’s written about the organizational dysfunction this season. I see a pattern and it looks ugly in there.
English

Hold on… you can’t just imply the president of MLSE interfered with the Leafs trade deadline using ideas from ChatGPT without any evidence.
A fireable offence has been committed - either by Keith Pelley, James Mirtle, or a source from the Leafs.
What the hell did I just read?

@LeafsUpdates21 Thinking he will improve is the definition of insanity.
English

If this ends up being the case, I’d just keep him and hope he improves under a new coach.

@Jay_D_Rosehill The "amount of problems" is the crazy thing and it all starts at the top with Ted hiring Pelley
English

The bad just gets worse.
It’s incredible how far this team has fallen in such a short time.
So many problems, so many questions. This summer will be interesting if nothing else.

@lukefoxjukebox Leafs should dress every tough guy in the organization tonight and turn this into a penalty filled circus. They won’t, but should. Just make it the ugliest loss in recent memory. They cannot win tonight, but likely will. Mostly due to their spiteful coach & incompetent brass.
English

@markhmasters @TSN_Sports If the Leafs were smart at all (we know they aren’t) they would dress every tough player in the organization and make this a penalty-filled circus. Give them lots of powerplays, take runs at every Sens rat like Grieg and make sure they don’t get a win. It won’t happen though.

#PelleyOut
MLSE needs a full top-to-bottom rebrand - and fast. Right now, it feels like money-gouging, profit-first leadership excecs that show little concern for the on-ice,/court/field product until it starts hitting their bottom line.
English

@mcclxskey He needs the right coach, who uses him properly and a supporting cast to supplement what he doesn’t do. A retool is a necessity. I don’t think people grasp what a rebuild will actually look like. He still has some good years left, but he can’t spend 60% of the game in the dzone.
English

@SamAMcKee It’s like they have no idea how to even handle it. They are so unable to change anything for the long term health of the club. It’s actually embarrassing to be a fan, with such a lack of direction.
English

@FirstUp1050 @Aaron_Korolnek @CarloColaiacovo I actually don’t think he’s a good coach. Players these days aren’t going to work for these old school types anymore. Coaches now have a shelf life of 2-3 years before teams need to change it up if it’s not working. Only adaptable, agile, flexible, cerebral coaches seem to last.
English

"Craig Berube is a good coach, he is not a good coach for this group of players"
@Aaron_Korolnek and @CarloColaiacovo discussed why Berube's system has not worked with #LeafsForever players and what the future holds for Chief. Do you agree? Let us know! 👇

@Ilikehockey31 @chridesj1995 @spittinchiclets I don’t actually care. Go give your head a shake “bud.”
English

@Danny33boy @spittinchiclets lol 😆 Wilson, yeah another fake tough guy who cherry picks his spots. Habs fans are hilarious. Anderson has basically been invisible for 3-4 years now. Enjoy the first round playoff exit in a couple weeks.
English

@tsnacker @spittinchiclets Literally beat the wheels off Wilson last year , zip it the adults are talking
English

@chridesj1995 @spittinchiclets Great. And Anderson only fights plugs who can’t fight. Let’s not pretend he’s some tough guy.
English

@tsnacker @spittinchiclets carlile went after anderson lol
