Been eagerly waiting for this to be published! Last year, I was lucky to be invited to the GitHub Secure Open Source Fund program to make Open Source Software more secure. Webpack went through security training that will ensure that webpack is better fit to handle security incidents and to reduce attack surfaces of ill-intended adversaries. Ensuring that webpack is well-managed is vital for the web ecosystem and in a larger scale, the open source community. In addition to the training we received $100K, yes, ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars in azure credit that we will use in student projects and for internal tooling when applicable. Today at @webpack we had our first 2026 TSC (Technical Steering Committee) meeting. Some of the things we discussed and agreed on were: a) 2026 roadmap for the entire organization. b) Establishing Working Groups for documentation & outreach (articles, blog posts etc). c) Performance related work moved to the Core Working Group. d) Starting work on an AI policy to reduce time waste and efficiency. e) Various of efforts with OpenJS Foundation on sustainability, maintenance of old versions, design of new webpack items.
