Jesus was a Jew. The religion called Islam with its particular theology, did not exist. Jesus prayed sitting standing and kneeling. His Mother wore a veil over her hair, not a Muslim hijab. Jesus did not wash his hands before praying nor did he require it of his followers. Jesus followed rules of Judaism that his followers were instructed that they did not need to follow as after Pentecost they were under a New Covenant.
