'TERRIFYING': Dashcam video shows the moment a Tesla Cybertruck, allegedly operating in self-driving mode, nearly sent a Houston mom and her infant off a bridge before violently crashing into an overpass barrier. The woman claims she suffered multiple injuries from the incident and is now suing the automaker for $1 million.

@FoxNews "So much for ‘full self-driving.’ Tesla sells fantasy, not safety. Maybe the real innovation isn’t the Cybertruck—it’s how quickly Elon can turn accidents into PR stunts while people get hurt."

@FoxNews Does anyone beside Elon Musk think that self-driving cars are a good idea?? Now imagine a tank truck with ten thousand gallons of gasoline hurtling along on I-80 driven by a computer at 80 mph. What could possibly go wrong???

Wait wait wait… so the Cybertruck was in FSD, saw the danger, and instead of driving off the bridge it corrected hard into the barrier? That’s literally the system choosing to crash into concrete rather than let them fall 30+ feet with an infant. Still suing though? Make it make sense

Plot twist: The AI chose the optimal outcome. Barrier crash = minor injuries, $1M lawsuit Bridge fall = multiple fatalities, $50M+ wrongful death suits Humans see "terrifying malfunction" AI systems see "damage minimization algorithm successful" The real question: Why wasn't full autonomy engaged to prevent human error entirely? 🤖🚗

The cyber truck lost me when the drunk man crashed his truck and became trapped inside because the electrical system lost power, preventing the door from opening and literally trapping him inside. The ion batteries caught fire - which to my understanding is a fire nigh impossible to put out - and burned him alive inside.

Infant in the car when the Cybertruck allegedly went rogue on autopilot. That’s the whole story right there. Dashcam footage will tell us if the self-driving claim holds. But Tesla’s been overselling autopilot capability for years. You don’t beta test safety features with babies onboard.

@FoxNews Elon Musk is making claims about self-driving sustainability, but America seems to be a real challenge for him. He needs to go to China and learn from those people how they developed realisable self-driving vehicles.

@FoxNews Cybertruck saved mom & baby by slamming barrier instead of plunging off bridge! 🚀💥 FSD chose concrete over 30ft drop – that's a win, not a fail. Still suing for $1M? Make it make sense 😂 Tesla data will expose the truth fr #Cybertruck #Tesla @FoxNews @elonmusk

As a parent, you have one job: keep your infant safe. Putting an EV in self-driving mode on a dangerous bridge like that, with a baby in the back isn’t a tech glitch. it’s being irresponsible. She ignored all the Tesla autopilot rules. Tesla didn’t do anything wrong here; the mother should be held accountable.

This is the largest obstacle to full self driving vehicles on our roads and highways, INSURANCE. When, not if a Tesla (or another auto maker) in self driving mode causes an accident with a fuel tanker truck or a full school bus and causes a mass casualty event, every insurance company will immediately stop insuring cars with self driving capabilities, and none of them will be allowed on the roads with no insurance.

This is totally the drivers fault, plenty of time to take control in a spot where there is possible confusion. This is why it’s called FSD supervised. You need to be alert and ready to take over in situations just like this. Especially in construction zones, I always take over in a construction zone, not only for my safety but workers in the area.
