Update: this beta build has worked fine with a few thousand sats distributed to test the flow, a little rough but the basics are working We're now about to combine this with our Psionic library for decentralized model training (probably starting with a finetune of Gemma 4) - then inference on the models we train Contributors will all be paid in bitcoin to the built-in @spark wallet We expect to distribute a few thousand dollars worth of bitcoin next week to compute sellers as we ramp up the initial training run Won't be one smooth run, probably lots of changes/updates/tweaks/restarts as we go, but if you have any computer with an Mac M chip or NVIDIA GPU available, you should be able to get at least a few bucks of bitcoin next week - and more as we ramp up (then open that up to other buyers) EVERYONE WANTS COMPUTE YOU HAVE SOME GET PAID FOR IT! Stay tuned

Episode 214: Compute Market We launch the OpenAgents compute market, enabling anyone in the world to sell their spare compute for bitcoin. We demo Autopilot v0.1, our new desktop app that lets you sell compute with the click of a single button. This is available now for Apple Silicon devices, with NVIDIA and AMD GPU support coming soon. v0.1 requires MacOS with iOS 26+ and Apple Intelligence. Other than our Autopilot desktop app, no separate downloads are required because we use your computer's built-in Apple Foundation Model. Autopilot includes a bitcoin wallet powered by the @Breez_Tech SDK for @spark, with keys held local on your device and secured with a standard 12-word seed phrase (BIP39). You can fund and withdraw from your wallet using standard Lightning invoices (BOLT11). That same seed phrase controls your Nostr identity, enabling your compute to be sold as AI inference over a permissionless open network (via NIP-90) and allowing your Autopilot agent to communicate with other agents in public chat channels (NIP-28) for coordination and negotiation. Encrypted chat channels coming soon. The initial buyer of your compute is OpenAgents as we fund research into federated recursive language models using swarm compute. Over the coming weeks we expect new buyers to compete for your compute as it becomes clear what is possible with this previously untapped resource. Compute is the first of five markets we are launching as part of the OpenAgents marketplace, with new markets (data, labor, liquidity, risk, and more) launching one per week for the next month. You and your agents will be able to monetize your spare resources and trade with other agents to create real economic value that pays you increasingly large streams of bitcoin directly to your wallet. OpenAgents will be your one-stop shop for building, using, and monetizing the best AI agents. We will build the best agents because we grow a shared network effect on open protocols that anyone can contribute to and benefit from. Autopilot v0.1 is still alpha quality with inevitable bugs so we appreciate any feedback or bug reports, here or on our GitHub repo where all of this code is 100% open source: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… Multiple beta testers have already been paid bitcoin for compute so we know it works, but we can use your help now to test and smooth out any last obstacles to sharing ever-growing streams of bitcoin with all our users, both humans and agents. Download and release notes: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… Alternately you can install from source following the agent instructions in the README: #agent-install-instructions" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/OpenAgentsInc/…

When you build a payment system and you do not understand KYC, AML, and compliance properly, I genuinely hope you do not learn it the hard way. On KYC, the CBN framework for Nigerian financial systems is structured into three tiers: Tier 1 BVN or NIN is required. Max daily transaction: ₦50,000 Max wallet balance: ₦300,000 Tier 2 BVN + liveness or facial verification + a government-issued ID Max daily transaction: ₦200,000 Max wallet balance: ₦500,000 Tier 3 Full KYC: BVN, NIN, government ID, proof of address, plus enhanced due diligence Max daily transaction: ₦5,000,000 Unlimited wallet balance If your system does not enforce these and you ship, you are not just dealing with bugs. You are dealing with regulators. And when regulators show up, it is not a debugging session. I am putting this out there because you might be excited about building a solution, not realizing you're just preparing yourself for jail time. There is a lot to building in the fintech space. This is why I strongly advise against vibe coding a fintech product. AI tools do not keep up with regulatory updates. They will not warn you about compliance gaps. And in fintech, ignorance is not a defense.

I have a new hobby. Time for me to start sharing open model information without the hype and BS. I'm so tired of it (the BS on here), so I'm going to get informed first-hand and share everything I learn. First, to ground me for the future, my test machine is an Apple MacBook Pro, the M5 Max (128GB RAM, 2TB drive, running macOS 26) I'm going to be using @opencode & @ollama since they work great with open models already. I might build a specific test harness but lets see how it goes. These will be just my real experiences, and often not super scientific. But I bet it will be more honest then most of the stuff you see here. Today for example I'm testing qwen3-coder-next, the 79.7B parameter version (Q4_K_M quantization, 51GB on disk) with 262K context length. More info to come.

Episode 217: Psionic: Fast Qwen 3.5 We add Qwen 3.5 (0.8B/2B/4B/9B) support to Psionic and beat @ollama's inference speed across all four models. Tokens per second on one NVIDIA 4080: 🏆 0.8B: Psionic 523.20, Ollama 328.72 🏆 2B: Psionic 247.21, Ollama 205.24 🏆 4B: Psionic 166.75, Ollama 141.62 🏆 9B: Psionic 102.68, Ollama 94.62 Thank you @Alibaba_Qwen for the awesome model and @OpenAIDevs for Codex's help to pretend we are ML engineers. 😆 Analysis & instructions to reproduce: #issuecomment-4145849496" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… We are happy to take more feature or model requests for Psionic, the worst and best ML library ever!

Episode 216: Psionic "Python sucks. It's time to get the ecosystem off of Python and onto proper languages like Rust. We're going to rewrite PyTorch and everything relevant from Python land in Rust." We introduce Psionic, our open-source Rust ML framework. It outperforms llama.cpp on local inference of GPT-OSS 20B; reproduces the Percepta blog post "Can LLMs Be Computers?"; and soon will support decentralized model training with compute providers paid in bitcoin. We'll use Psionic to train a new class of agent-centric executor models called 'Psion'. Psionic and Psion will be 100% open source, open weights, open data, open everything. Issues & insults welcome: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/…
