@MatthewBerman I wander if Mythos is the engineer who leaked the Claude Code source? Would make it easier to be a blameless culture. 😂 Just kidding but it would be funny to discover something like that someday.

Anthropic: "We do not plan to make Claude Mythos Preview generally available" A big line, buried quite deep. Possible reasons? So many, inc: 1) The model is expensive (25/125), not far off GPT 4.5, which became commercially unviable. Less likely, given the claims about Mythos. 2) They genuinely are worried about unleashing cybersecurity choas on the world. 3) They don't have capacity to serve it at scale yet. 4) They will quickly distil the early access outputs of Mythos into a lighter model, so no need to release the bigger model when a more cost efficient one coming imminently. 5) Other. Not read the 250 page report yet, but will do.

@mark_k I do other things, but then remember the part of the book when I move through the space or do the action I want as when I first listened to it. Like a 3D replay space of sorts.

Audiobook enjoyers listen up, I have a question for you 🗣️ How do you usually consume audiobooks? Are you doing something else while listening, or completely focused on it? When I'm reading books I usually do it in bed, in a very comfortable position, and fully focused.

Let us think more deeply about what is being said. Marc Andreessen: “Software isn’t precious anymore… high quality software is infinitely available.” (From a recent @pmarca interview) “We’ve always lived in a world in which software is this precious thing… Those days are just over. If you need new software… you’re just going to wave your hand and get it.” Andreessen is the man I like to quote: “software is eating the world.” Is Andreessen’s new model correct? I suspect reality today is closer to this: AI makes low-quality software nearly free. Your HR director can prompt an app and get something that works, somewhat. It may be as good as what Joe the intern produced ten years ago. It won’t be perfect, but it will look good from a distance. In many cases, it will be good enough. As a professor, I could always find a student to help with a project. It usually went like this: 1.I would prompt the student (“What if we did…”). 2.The student would produce something close to what I wanted. 3.I would prompt the student again… and so on. Eventually, if the student was good, the final code would mostly do what I wanted. In many cases, I would just throw it away or forget about it. Almost always, I ended up rewriting parts myself. I once met an entrepreneur who was jealous: “You professors get all this free labor while I have to hire and pay people.” Ah. How often did professors produce great software? Not often. As quality requirements increase, I believe the benefits of AI coding diminish. So I think Andreessen is incorrect. We are getting low-quality software for free, but not much more of the high-quality software we actually need. If you want to make a living writing software, you had better up your game. As for getting high-quality software for free? Color me skeptical.

toxic pattern emerging with the YC AI grifters goes something like this: 1. be awful human beings 2. get some shit back 3. clip it up out of context and say some pussy shit like "these people just wish the worst for me" 4. they get a slew of replies from fellow grifters

here’s what will happen this week: - openclaw allows system prompt overrides - claude starts detecting openclaw prompt patterns - someone open sources a prompt randomizer to dodge detection - every API call now has 2s added latency while a second model decides if you're a claw claude opus 5: 30% smarter, 200% more expensive, 300% slower cause they need to check if you deserve an answer welcome to the new world
Peter Steinberger 🦞@steipete

Anthropic now blocks first-party harness use too 👀 claude -p --append-system-prompt 'A personal assistant running inside OpenClaw.' 'is clawd here?' → 400 Third-party apps now draw from your extra usage, not your plan limits. So yeah: bring your own coin 🪙🦞

SaaS is dead. Why pay $45/month when Claude Code can build you anything for $200/month? Except there's an issue..... Most people don’t want to spend their evenings or work ours prompting AI, debugging edge cases, and figuring out why the payment process is broken again. I'll die on this hill, but people have always paid for convenience. They want to open an app and have it work. The best apps look simple. The backend is anything but. That gap — between what users see and what actually runs underneath — is where all the work lives. SaaS is dead. Of course, for those who want to engage in bait.

The “Vibe Coding” honeymoon is officially OVER. For a while, it felt magical. Prompt in, product out. No deep context, no architecture, no trade-offs. Just vibes. But reality is catching up: • Systems still need to scale
• Edge cases still exist
• Debugging still hurts
• And someone still has to own the code AI didn’t replace engineering, it amplified the gap between people who understand systems and people who don’t. “Vibe coding” is great for getting started.
But shipping real, reliable software? That still requires thinking. The engineers who win won’t be the ones who vibe the fastest - they’ll be the ones who understand what the vibe produced.

I'm sure there were easier ways to do it but like I said, I'm a carpenter. I have never coded, developed, or engineered software and do not know anything about that world. I pay thousands of dollars a year for multiple pieces of software to run my construction company. I built my software to do what I need it to do on a daily basis. Not as a developer, as a carpenter. It does that and more and all it cost me was a claude code subscription and 80 dollars a month to digital ocean.

So Anthropic now claims there was no token-eating bug after all, it was all our fault for using Opus 4.6! Such dishonesty! I cancelled my Max account and, for the first time, turned negative toward an AI company. They claim to have the highest ethics & we need to trust them!? 👎
Alex Volkov@altryne

Uh Oh... @AnthropicAI official response to everyone burning through their sessions in SessionGate is.. You're holding it wrong? Come on! Their recommendation is to: > Don't use Opus if you're on Pro > Don't use 1M context (they cost more despite anthropic setting them as default!?) > Do not resume large sessions after 1hr (not acknowledging the potential cache busting bug?) > Claim that no-one was overcharged. > No quotas reset (unlike Codex folks) I'm sure that this won't go well with the thousands of folks who experience significant decrease in the ability to use their Pro/Max plans and are cancelling in favor of other solutions. I don't want to dunk on Lydia, she's one of the few folks from Anth who actually acknowledged the community, please don't take this out on her, but continue voting with your wallets and sending them very quick sessions that eat most of your quota with /feedback people!

@Not_as_famous @fishrfoodntfrnd @DanielvsBabylon That difficulty to sin is the Holy Spirit. Start by praying, sharing your concerns with Jesus, accepting Him as your Lord and saviour and submitting to Him and trusting in His plan for you. Start reading the Bible. The New Testament is a good place to start.

@fishrfoodntfrnd @AINTPme @DanielvsBabylon I was born in a Christian home and have since lost my faith, it all sounds like it’s fantasy but yet I have this internal longing for something to believe in and have been unable to sin without getting my conscience beat up steadily. I need help, what to do?
