@shannonrwatts @SuriCrowe The point of your tweet was to take people whose core message was pro worker, corporate accountability, anti-oligarch and pretend otherwise. And get clicks -- well done.

As a liberal progressive, I would be fine with the party moving left if these wins were about Medicare for all, reproductive rights, universal childcare, taxing billionaires, and creating affordable housing, But they weren’t.

Senator @VanHollenForMD is a determined fighter for working people, a statesman of the first order, and has shown what it means to lead with your values, rather than be beholden to corporate interests and foreign lobbies. I'm looking forward to working with Senator Van Hollen in the US Senate, and I am deeply grateful to earn his endorsement.

@mattyglesias I honestly don't understand your point. Are you saying checklist Dems who sit back 20 years waiting for something good to vote on vs actual leaders makes no difference?

It’s a political earthquake. But when the dust has settled and several very left-wing NYC House Democrats are replaced by new very left-wing House Democrats who also call themselves “socialists” what will have actually changed?
(((Harry Enten)))@ForecasterEnten

What happened in NYC tonight represents a larger trend among Dems... 1. Dem Socialists (+17 pt net fav) are more popular than Dems in Congress (+4 pt net fav) with Dems. 2. Socialism's popularity with Dems is way up in the last 15 years & is far more popular than capitalism.

If Bores loses, then other Dems will shut up about regulating AI to avoid getting swamped by dark $$. But if Dems don't seize the opportunity to run on AI, they'll be squandering the biggest political opportunity of a generation. This is why NY-12 matters so much for 2028

When centrist Dems win, progressives support them in the general. But now that the primary voters chose a progressive, some DC pundits do not want to support @dunlap4congress ? Give me a break. This would be self sabotage and then the establishment will spread lies about how progressives can't win swing districts.

Disagreement btwn Dems over what to do in #ME02: A senior House Dem tells @axios the seat is "probably lost" and that it "was going to be tough anyway without Jared." Rep. Ro Khanna says DCCC should "absolutely should add Dunlap to the Red to Blue." axios.com/2026/06/22/dem…

The difference to me is McDuffie was way better than Cuomo + Mamdani signaled early that he wouldn’t fuck up NYC schools and always clearly lacked the authority to actually implement his tax ideas.
Cassie Pritchard@hecubian_devil

Ezra Klein publicly stated he voted for Mamdani; Yglesias publicly opposed JLG. I know they’re interchangeable drones in the Liberal Borg to many socialists on Twitter, but the inability to distinguish between persuadable liberals and dedicated opponents is unhelpful.

@mattyglesias Mamdani has made progress on his core campaign promises. See child care, taxing the rich down payments, and public option groceries. More to come. Not sure what you are talking about there. Clear governing victory for economic populist progressives.

@AdamGreen I mean, I still think all the ideas she ran on are terrible. But Mamdani shows you can win on the basis of terrible left-wing ideas and then just not do any of them and leftists will stay happy so fingers crossed — maybe she can even save the Wizards. 😂

@AdamGreen He was a dud but the progressive sweep in DC this week was way bigger than the mayor’s race and involved Elissa Silverman, who herself is a dud, winning a huge landslide so I really don’t want to put this all on one lazy candidate. The voters wanted change.

@neeratanden @achaikof Other polls have shown Abdul as the most competitive general election candidate. The fact that those polls showed Abdul within margin of error, and other candidates trailing Rogers more, is not really a helpful data point for whatever you're saying.

A poll by a person who has been openly pushing for Abdul El-Sayed for a group called Common Defense that shows a lead against Rogers no other independent pollster has found....color me skeptical. If independent pollsters verify in the future, then this was early. But otherwise it seems...off.
