UI doesn't die, it relocates.
I've been running PAI daily for months. It took two weeks of intensive work with TELOS and customization to give the system enough context to truly know my needs. The effort required to close the personalization gap is the part nobody talks about.
For preference-heavy decisions, even low-stakes ones like choosing a shirt, we have so many unspoken quirks as individuals. Some preferences would only surface through dialogue. I don't believe an agent will know there's a specific tactile feel I want in a shirt. No pre-loaded profile covers that. The conversation IS the product.
With that in mind, I think the model is heavily voice-driven: kicking off agents, then a proper dialogue interviewing you only when necessary, ending with just-in-time UI at the point of decision.
The shift is less screen time, not no screen. And this might be what gives optical/spatial UI its iPhone moment.
The screen doesn't die. It stops being a storefront.
