I’ve spent today with a dentist and a nutritionist, both from farming families, both who believe that this new tax on farms is fundamentally wrong, they know the damage it will do to family farms, and they do believe that those who remain on the land should be supported to do so

VAT on school fees is a purely political move, it will raise very little, do immense damage, and proves that this government are no better than the last, happy to through anyone under the bus.

Read a bit this weekend about schools pushing more and more for children to be at school even if they are contagious with something or not feeling well. Do they realise that attendance is more than just being present? Not much learning if you’re at school feeling crappy.

@mprez22la @Alemap63 @adamboxer1 @sjmozzawife MATs are efficient where they can pool resources and where schools can learn from each other. MATs that have disparately scattered schools struggle to do the first and really struggle to do the second. If MATs can concentrate into hubs this works, but I know of several who can't.

This is why high quality training in child development really matters. At the moment @educationgovuk is consulting on allowing someone who has held a L3 qualification for 6 months to “accredit” a fellow worker with L3 status. We must ensure this doesn’t happen. We need to raise
