@KTG_1990 @adamboxer1 If I'm going to be coached I want direct instruction from someone who knows what they're talking about. Not needing expertise is a bit red flag for me.

@Greangrass333 @TruthFairy131 What I love is when people point out that they're capitalist countries, but if you want to enact any of their policies they'll scream "communism".

@TvboyMister @TruthFairy131 By taking money we mean lobbying government to stifle unions and allow wages to be suppressed. It's happened to the point that the economy as a whole is suffering as money in billionaire bank accounts does not end up in the economy nor invested in much productive.

@Miss_Snuffy @Trivium21c The dark skinned elves just make me think of colonisation and slavery ... Poor tropical born elves taken to the North Pole to forcibly make toys for white children's Christmas. Who knows... Perhaps there's a niche for elves of colour and this is the free market filling demand

@Trivium21c Yes and he has always been depicted as a white elf. Because he is made in the image of the country that sells him. Funny how we never saw brown elves in the 1990s. All part of the culture shift. If you can’t see that, well, maybe one day you will.

@RealMonyMonz @tombennett71 Good. Correcting misbehaviour and understand good behaviour is a major need that needs to be met. Misbehaviour is not usually about unmet needs, just very correlated.

Tackling the behaviour crisis in Scottish schools by focussing on the shape of the school day is a spectacular way to miss the point. Children mess about when we let them, when the boundaries are vague or ambiguous, and where consequences are trivial. This is like trying to lose weight by changing the colour of your plate.

@RealMonyMonz @tombennett71 So they are misbehaving? You can empathise and look beyond the behaviour and still address, and not tolerate, the behaviour. Not to do so is called enabling. It's harmful for the other students and the student that is enabled to think that it's ok to act like that.

@RealMonyMonz @tombennett71 That's absolute stupid nonsense. When have the needs of children ever been truly met? That does not explain the level of poor behaviour in Scotland or English and Welsh schools. Look at a rural school in south east Asia and ask if their needs are met and how behaviour compares.

@Miss_Snuffy At best such things will act as a multiplier. Without implementing discipline that include the real threat of losing a school place, there is nothing to multiply. Zero x any number = 0

@johnstuart55520 @tombennett71 It's been my experience only a small (influential) minority would do what they do in school in the real world. That's because it's just not normal and often just wouldn't be tolerated like it is in school.

@tombennett71 I think you will find that children are messing about before they even enter the playground and classroom, the lack of respect shown by pupils and parents is a major society issue

@FrankFlobs65902 @Miss_Snuffy Would say a leader in the most traditional sense... Only in modern times has the pope not influenced other European rulers directly.

@Miss_Snuffy I suppose the Pope is a "European leader", but not in the traditional sense. It's on him to do something.

Anyone who can run a classroom knows that if the naughty kids are allowed to get away with poor behaviour, the bad behaviour spreads to other kids and worsens. Eventually the class becomes ungovernable. Perhaps European leaders might take note

Jess Phillips as Shadow Minister, chose to pick on a headteacher and encourage her huge following to believe I was a safeguarding concern. Why? I had tweeted a malfunctioning gif about Tina Turner. She has no credibility and enjoys trying to ruin people’s lives. Be wary.

@Miss_Snuffy Safeguarding concerns? You are a control freak with power over minors - so there is that. Your neo-Victorian approach to life long learning may appear successful on the surface - but don't scratch too deeply.

Why do students learn so much about the Egyptian pyramids and almost nothing about the great cathedrals that took far longer to build and were infinitely more complex? This one took more than 600 years to build.

@norchcity No. I think the system is so broken that the only natural way to think for those that want genuine change is to push boundaries to the extreme to counteract the bullshit norm.

@greeborunner @TyburnFleet I think we should compare schools that use and don't use isolation by filming the antics and showing the public what British school children get up to in some schools. The problem is that poor parents who've raised out of control kids control the narrative.

Big front page stories about 1 in 12 pupils in isolation. Suspensions are viewed with horror. I’m not quite sure how schools are supposed to address issues with poor behaviour if neither option can be available.

@greeborunner @TyburnFleet Then they should be sent home and come back to isolation the next day along with several hours of detention. Refusing to comply with the consequence should be a fast track to suspension and permanent exclusion.
