@adamscochran If that's anything other than a file photo, they might want to keep some of the air frames below deck. Seems like the Russians and Chinese are providing the Iranian with some pretty top tier targeting information (real time, non-air breather sources)

MUCH earlier than expected… they must have been going full steam. This is the ship from Japan that was carrying the MEU group. It wasn’t expected until mid-week. To achieve this would mean going near max speed and potentially leaving the rest of its group behind to catch up. It’s a significant security gap, that suggests an urgency to use these troops. The Tripoli tops out at 22 knots in perfect conditions, and other ships in its group at 20 knots. So normally the travel speed is 14-18 knots for the group. Putting the time from Japan to the Gulf at 3 weeks. To get there this quick means full push from the Tripoli which means a high value asset was alone for at least some of the journey. That isn’t a risk you take, unless you need to use those units asap.

U.S. Marines have arrived in the Middle East, according to CENTCOM. The amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli is already in the region.

@ToddHagopian The urine test is an entry point for a bunch of other stuff. Pot is still illegal in FL. They may be limited on what they can charge you with, but I guarantee you they test for everything they can and then they pass the results along to vice for further on-going investigation.

BREAKING: Russia just sold physical gold from its central bank reserves for the first time in 25 years. And then Putin signed a decree banning the export of refined gold bars over 100 grams. Selling gold while banning gold exports. That sounds contradictory until you understand the mechanism. The Central Bank of Russia sold 300,000 troy ounces in January and 200,000 in February 2026 per CBR and MinFin data reported by bne IntelliNews. Total: 500,000 ounces, roughly 15 tonnes, worth approximately 3.5 trillion rubles. Reserves dropped to 74.3 million ounces, a four-year low. Russia is not selling gold because it is desperate. Russia is selling gold because yuan is more useful than gold when you need rubles for a war budget, and converting yuan to rubles has become nearly impossible through the banking system. Here is the part the market has not connected. Russia receives enormous yuan inflows. Roughly 80 to 90 percent of Russia-China bilateral trade now settles in yuan or rubles per Carnegie and Trade Data Monitor. Russian banks hold over $60 billion in yuan assets. The yuan has replaced the dollar as Russia’s primary foreign currency. But yuan cannot pay Russian soldiers or fund domestic military procurement. That requires rubles. On March 18, the Central Bank of Russia exhausted its RMB 5 billion yuan swap facility. Demand for this facility was zero a year ago. Overnight yuan borrowing rates on the Moscow Exchange spiked above 20 percent per the Moscow Times and Sovcombank data. Chinese banks have been tightening compliance on Russian transactions due to fear of US secondary sanctions, with processing delays reaching 18 days in some cases. Russia is drowning in yuan it cannot spend domestically. Gold solves this. The CBR sells physical gold bars on the domestic market. Buyers pay in rubles. The rubles go directly into the federal budget. No yuan conversion needed. No printing press inflation. No dependence on Chinese banking compliance. Gold at roughly $4,400 per ounce means Russia is monetizing its reserves at record prices, extracting maximum ruble value per ounce sold. The May 1 export ban completes the logic. Deputy Finance Minister Moiseev stated the rationale explicitly: gold bars had become a tool for capital flight and shadow economy transactions, functioning as an illicit foreign exchange substitute. The ban on bars over 100 grams keeps the physical metal inside Russia while allowing the CBR to continue domestic sales for budget liquidity. Banks are exempt. Now connect this to the broader architecture. China tolerates Russia’s gold sales because they stabilize a partner whose fiscal collapse would disrupt China’s primary overland energy supply. Russia stabilized by gold sales remains a reliable supplier of discounted oil and gas settled in yuan. The trade loop stays intact. The ruble bridge stays funded. The de-dollarization testbed keeps running. This is not “Russia dumping gold in panic.” This is a sovereign state operating a dual-currency regime where yuan handles trade and gold handles fiscal liquidity, because the banking infrastructure connecting the two currencies has been deliberately degraded by the same sanctions architecture that was supposed to isolate Russia from global markets. The sanctions created the yuan dependency. The yuan dependency created the ruble liquidity gap. The liquidity gap created the gold sales. The gold sales fund the war. The war sustains the Hormuz crisis. The Hormuz crisis accelerates yuan settlement at the strait. The snake is eating its own tail again. Full analysis - open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

🚨 HIGHWAY PATROL PLOWS UPSIDE-DOWN CAR ACROSS LIVE CALIFORNIA FREEWAY — AND DRIVERS ARE STUNNED This just happened in Riverside, California and drivers couldn’t believe what they were watching. A California Highway Patrol unit lines up… then plows a flipped vehicle sideways across multiple lanes like it’s nothing. • Car completely upside down • Plowed across FOUR lanes of traffic — median to the shoulder • Patrol vehicle uses brute force to clear it • No warning… just impact People watching from behind the wheel are shocked this is even allowed. Most drivers thought this would make it worse… not be standard procedure. Now everyone’s asking the same thing: Since when was this an option… and how often are they doing this without people noticing?

The (promising?) Boeing Model 908-909 was a contender for the USAF single engine multi-role fighter project in the 1970s. It lost out the General Dynamics 401, which later became the F-16. This mock-up doesn't look quite right, to my untrained eye, but was as far as it went!

@Maximumatheist Ok... let's approach this from a *scientific* point of view. Like it or not, humans imprint (for the lack of a better work) during their developmental years. Those raised in religious households are far more likely to be religious regardless of their "IQ". *I* forgive them.

BREAKING: Zelensky just landed in the UAE and signed a defence cooperation agreement with President MBZ. The deal on the table changes everything about this war. Ukraine is offering Gulf states 1,000 drone interceptors per day. Each Sting interceptor costs $2,100. Each Patriot missile it replaces costs $3.9 million. In exchange, Ukraine wants the Patriot missiles the Gulf states are burning through, because Kyiv cannot get enough of them to stop Russian missiles. Read that again. The country America refused to arm fast enough is now arming America’s allies with a weapon that costs 1,857 times less than the one America cannot produce fast enough. The National reported on March 27 that Zelensky told reporters: “We’d like to quietly receive the Patriot missiles we have a deficit of, and give them a corresponding number of interceptors.” AFP confirmed the UAE agreement on March 28. Eleven countries have formally requested Ukraine’s drone defence expertise per Zelensky’s own count. Over 200 Ukrainian military specialists are already deployed across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Jordan. Here is the arithmetic that should terrify every Pentagon procurement officer on earth. The United States fired 943 Patriot interceptors in the first four days of the Iran war per a US Congressional study cited by the Jerusalem Post. That is eighteen months of Lockheed Martin’s annual production consumed in 96 hours. Each of those 943 shots cost $3.9 million. Total expenditure: $3.68 billion in four days on defensive interceptions alone. Iran produces 10,000 Shahed drones per month per Reuters. Each drone costs $20,000 to $50,000. The cost exchange ratio is 114 to 1 in Iran’s favour per Military Times. Ukraine’s Sting interceptor inverts this arithmetic entirely. At $2,100, the cost ratio flips from 114-to-1 against America to roughly 10-to-1 against Iran. Ukraine can supply 1,000 per day. That is 30,000 per month against Iran’s 10,000 Shaheds per month. For the first time in this war, the defender’s production rate exceeds the attacker’s production rate at a fraction of the cost. And the country that built this weapon is the same country that Trump publicly rejected. “No, they are not helping. We do not need their help. We know more about drones than anyone else” per Fox News. He doubled down: “The last person we need help from is Zelensky.” Meanwhile the Pentagon notified Congress of plans to redirect $750 million in Ukraine-bound Patriot missiles to Gulf states per House of Saud reporting. America is simultaneously refusing Ukraine’s cheap solution and cannibalising Ukraine’s expensive one. Zelensky framed this explicitly. He told The National: “No matter how many Patriots, THAADs, or other air-defence systems are in the Middle East, that alone is not enough for fully effective air defence.” He told the UK Parliament: “When it comes to shooting down massive Shahed attacks, only Ukrainian experience can really help with this today.” The Pentagon is spending $3.9 million per interception, raiding Swiss fighter jet accounts to cover shortfalls, and diverting Ukraine’s own Patriot supply to the Gulf. Zelensky is offering the same result for $2,100 and producing 1,000 units per day. The market has a word for this kind of disruption. The $2,100 drone is the most important weapon in this war. And the country that built it is the one America said it did not need. Full analysis - open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…
