I am sorry, but for someone in Israel to complain about hitting civilian targets... that's a bit rich, don't you think? Like you literally made it rain oil in Tehran and made the water to like pH 3. I don't think you have a say in this (although I feel bad for civilians on both sides...)

@Polyick @BCResource @sharma_views An Iranian missile landed 500 meters from my home, destroyed a cancer research laboratory and blew out our windows, there was no military assets for miles around, no one got any evacuation warnings. Sit your ass down 🤡.

🚨 CATHY NEWMAN: You’re attacking gas fields in Qatar. They aren’t military targets. IRAN SPOX: We’re hitting US-linked assets. CATHY: No, you’re hitting a gas field in Qatar. IRAN SPOX: Don’t cut me. Who hit our gas fields first? We’re defending. CATHY: But a gas field isn’t military. IRAN SPOX: Then why was ours targeted? SHE PUSHED. HE FLIPPED. NARRATIVE COLLAPSED. CALMLY. 💥

@BCResource @AKAGodzprince @sharma_views I don’t understand how people can’t understand the two countries escalating each stage are America and Israel. At pretty much every turn.

@BCResource @sharma_views Omg, you must be so dumb. Qatar has defended this regime for so many years. It makes no sense. Should the U.S. attack Qatar now just because they are allied with Iran? Use whatever is left of your brain, leftist.

@jonironbeard @WellingtonKofi @sharma_views There is no discussion about the fact that the US-Israeli side escalated the conflict. If you want to look at history you can go back to 1953 and foreign intervention. It doesn't change the fact that the fault of this conflict lies with the US-Israeli side.

@jonironbeard @sharma_views Iranians claim that was a false flag. And *if* that's the case, then you stop the negotiations and initiate the war. Attacking mid-negotiations is terrible for diplomacy worldwide.

@BCResource @sharma_views Iran was deemed to be negotiating in bad faith, and they have since bombed the mediator (Oman). So make of that what you will.

Oil at $150 or $200 isn't the no brainer it's made out to be. You have to think carefully about what's priced at $110. My best guess is that current levels price half of all oil out of the Gulf being permanently disrupted. So $150 or $200 are a stretch... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/how-high-wil…

@jonironbeard @sharma_views Iran was attacked mid-negotiations in the beginning of this month. They have never escalated this war, but of course they have to respond with the same escalation. I don't like the Iranian regime, at all, but it makes perfect logical sense.

@BCResource @sharma_views Robert, attacking civilian targets isn't permitted even if your's are hit first. If that's justified, then I remind you this whole war started in earnest when Iran attacked civilian infrastructure in Israel in April 2024. So Iran doesn't have a leg to stand on either way.

@psyllcom @AJENews Yes, this is what happened in Iraq. In Syria they installed a former Al-Qaeda general/officer, I don't know if that is a very good solution tbh...

@BCResource @AJENews Yeah Robert, you right... the withdrawal leaves a massive power vacuum. Iran's already deeply embedded via militias and political proxies in Iraq - now accelerates full control. We've watched Syria and Lebanon fall into the same pattern before.

@AJENews Feels like the final nail in the coffin for any "coalition" stability in the region. With Iran lashing out everywhere, this just screams vacuum - and guess who's gonna fill it? Probably not the good guys. We've seen this movie before, and it never ends well.

Iran has kept the Straight of Hormuz toll-free for decades despite being vilified, sanctioned, and Isolated. Egypt charges $300,000 – $700,000+ per transit through the Suez Canal. Ultra-large container ships or tankers can exceed $1 million. Panama charges $150,000 – $450,000 per transit. Large Neopanamax ships cost up to $500,000+ to pass the Panama Canal. Turkey charges fees for the Bosporus Strait. Canada charges fees for the St Lawrence Seaway. The United States charges for the St Lawrence Seaway. But Iran is a bad country.

Happy Friday, oil watchers. Brent crude is currently at ~$107.50/bbl, up ~$37/bbl since the beginning of the Iran War. After a week of heavy media, I'm head down all day trying to make sense of the week's foghorn of developments. Friday gonna Friday?

We remain resolute. This morning in the Mediterranean, the French Navy intercepted and boarded another vessel from the shadow fleet, the Deyna. The war involving Iran will not deflect France from its support for Ukraine, where Russia’s war of aggression continues unabated. These vessels, which evade international sanctions and violate the law of the sea, are profiteers of war. They line their pockets while helping finance Russia’s war effort. We will not allow it.
