🧪 Nicotinamide riboside treatment enhances stress sensitivity and modulates hematological dynamics in aged mice

This study shows that nicotinamide riboside (NR)—a widely studied NAD⁺ precursor—may ⬆️ stress sensitivity and affect 🩸 blood parameters in aged mice, highlighting the importance of context when considering NR as a longevity intervention.

@agingdoc1 @hagayanay @GeroScienceAGE Thanks! We were also proud to report a resolution of “conflicting” DNA damage accumulation in HSCs during aging- we show mild proliferation stress can repair accumulated damage- while more extensive proliferation leads to accumulation of damage in HSC!

Very happy to have this out! In this study we show that the DNA modification, 5hmC, increases over bodies of tissue-specific genes in the aging liver and serves a function different from DNA methylation. Congrats @occean_james!
