What's the most sustainable way to move through Kigali's hilly terrain? 🚴‍♀️⚡ We joined @CityofKigali, @eBee_Africa and @SOLUTIONS_EU in the launch of the eKo-Bike initiative with 35 electric bikes! The project is part of the city's efforts to promote NMT.

Key players in electric mobility convened at City Hall to strengthen collaboration on green and sustainable transportation. They reviewed the implementation of Rwanda's 2021 Strategic Paper on Electric Mobility and discussed the challenges faced. The City of #Kigali has experienced a rise in businesses entering the e-mobility sector over the past few years, including electric motorbikes (e-motos) and electric vehicles (EVs). These businesses contribute to the city’s growing commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions. To support the shift to electric vehicles, the City of #Kigali established the E-Mobility Technical Committee to coordinate stakeholders, share knowledge, and document best practices. The Government of #Rwanda has also introduced key incentives, including reduced electricity tariffs, tax exemptions, and duty waivers, to boost electric mobility.
