@charlielfc_17 @ScottishBevan Current form? It’s arguably not been a democratic socialist party for about a century—even Corbyn’s programme was a social democratic one at best

@ScottishBevan @BennClips You can certainly make the case for “stay and fight” but I think part of the fight is recognising we are currently not a democratic socialist party in our current form

@RosaLuxembae I think they kind of see it as a win-win — if it passes, they say “see we listened and held a vote, but time ran out”. It’s v cynical.

It's difficult to organise against these antidemocratic votes where only the leadership can put forward their argument but I hope Scottish comrades vote Option A to give the bureaucracy a bloody nose.

In another twist, the leadership has just gone over the heads of the ISEC and @NiallChristie1, the representative *we* elected, and asked us a question that we already democratically decided in February. What the fuck are the officers group playing at?

The term 'far left' only has meaning when applied to revolutionary socialists and anarchists committed to the overthrow of capitalism. Watching television journalists attempt to pin the label on Polanski is just cringeworthy.

@NiallChristie1 @Jen4TruroAndFal @LauraSmithCrewe @LouRegan1 @cllrbegum “No final decision was taken” Yes, it was! By our democratic conference in February! The same conference in which we voted to move towards being an independent party, which the UK officers have simply ignored. How on earth do they think this looks to Scottish members?!

@BennClips @NiallChristie1 it's factionalism. All nationalism is to an extent. It's about people wanting to swim in a smaller pond so they feel more important.

@hannada39 That’s what they tell you, yes. Of course, it’s not true. The STUC has identified billions that could be raised in progressive devolved taxation.

@BennClips You do realise that hamstrung by WM the SNP does its absolute best to mitigate WMs austerity? With independence all of the economic levers will be in our hands.

@BennClips @tombruhcks Seems to be a bit of a trend doesnt it? Try to infiltrate a party who may challenge the establishment. Provoke infighting. Slander and attack those who build the party. Promote identity politics over those who have popularity with the Electorate. Race to the bottom. U his minder?

@SocialistNIRE @mattleslie74 A) he wasn’t kicked out B) he was suspended, but not for those reasons C) he has no relationship with that person from what I can see — do you know otherwise? D) “infiltrate” ran in a democratic election and won…

@BennClips @mattleslie74 Pretty sure Niall only wants a new party because he's got main character syndrome and got kicked out of the greens for bullying and inifghting, and so along with his cronies (one a trans pedo who spoke at YP conf) he's tried to infiltrate another party. The SNP wouldn't touch him

I had some hope for Your Party when its formation was announced but it has developed into a Sixth Form common room squabble show. Vote SNP in Scotland, Plaid in Wales & Green in England folks as Your Party is a mess & Labour wants to be 'Torier than thou'.
Jack Mac@BennClips

I mean, what can you say at this point? - Scottish conference decisions effectively overruled - We will not run candidates because of HQ intransigence - Decisions made for Scotland made in London by a handful of people Open contempt for Scottish members.

@BennClips @NiallChristie1 thing is, that's much more about the disconnect between the 'for the many' rhetoric of the hard left and the fact they've never met an opportunity for factionalism they don't like, than it is about an inherent love of nationalism.

@LeftyCelt @CaptainPog1 You say that, but the “biggest PFI deal in Scotland’s history” was a policy enthusiastically promoted by one Lorna Slater, not an SNP minister

@tombruhcks Seems to be the wrong way round. You have Your Party members detecting to greens in that. Is it not Greens being kicked out for infighting/bullying/antisemitism who then infiltrated Your Party? Like Niall Currie. Or the canarys Maddison Wheeldon. You'll need to correct it xx

@hannada39 Because many of us want a working class socialist party, not parties that have cut services in our communities and sold off our public assets, which is what the SNP and Greens did. It’s that simple.

@BennClips Why would anyone who wants independence ever vote for the Your Party shambles? SNP and/or Green depending on your constituency is the way to go.
