@Ambar_SIFF_MRA I don’t know how many women I’ve seen come in to engineering and basically just get elevated right up the chain and pushed into leadership positions. Ironically, women usually make better managers than men, but they are rarely better leaders.

One of the male dominated fields that women should not attempt to get into is stand-up comedy. "We still mine?" "What do we mine for?" Then she proceeded to act like she is smarter than him because she has a master's degree.

The whole "access to white people is not a human right" never really hit me until a group of black youths showed up at my HOA pool, which is deeply nestled inside our neighborhood, and not findable on google maps. They hopped the fence and were clearly seen and even video'd doing so. When confronted they just denied it, even with like 5 guys standing around telling them they say them and asking them to leave. Cries of racism and bigotry abounded. They kept pacing around refusing to leave until the police were called, at which time they left and vowed they'd come back. Things were complicated even more by a some obese half black woman who might legitimately be the only black person in the entire neighborhood came over and claimed they were her guests, even as she couldn't tell us what their names were. She was literally just operating on racial tribalism. The lesson is that you can have price barriers. You can have high HOA fees, with strict enforcement and literal gatekeeping. You can do every possible thing within the law, and still, white people will never be left alone.

My neighborhood got a rap as being “the rich neighborhood” for Halloween. Every year the streets are packed with cars and a majority of kids ringing my bell arent from the neighborhood. Now don’t get me wrong my friends and I walked miles on Halloween as kids. But these kids qre being driven in from the other side of town. Heck they brought a bus last year.

I remember a friend of a friend was this insufferable Turkish guy called Deren who kept getting cucked by his girlfriend—anyway, he forced us all to go to this Turkish cafe in Stoke Newington called something like “Cafe Z” and I eventually settled on this dish, which is called “menemen” and when I didn’t finish it, he angrily took my plate and ate the rest while mumbling under his breath about the superiority of Turkish cuisine. It’s literally just scrambled eggs with tomato and paprika.

The British child of 2026 has: - A fortified breakfast cereal containing synthetic vitamin D2 of debatable bioavailability. - A vitamin D supplement, if the parents have been told about it. - An autoimmune profile, in roughly 1 in 4 cases by adulthood, that the medical establishment classifies as idiopathic. The cod liver oil was withdrawn by Edward Heath's government in 1971, on grounds of cost. The autoimmune profile is now managed, on average, with multiple pharmaceutical interventions per affected individual, at an NHS cost running into billions annually. The cost-benefit analysis on the original decision has, to date, not been published.

@HandyGingerGal Not in my experience. Ate raw green beans my whole life from the garden. Never saw a sibling throw up from it either. Perhaps they have a bacteria/virus on them from the garden that wasn’t fully washed off?

So, last night's dinner was amazing, and I was so excited about my green bean salad. But spent the entire night sick as a dog. Apparently, beans have something called lectins, that can mimick food poisoning? The recipe did not mention that 😭 Anybody else ever experience this?
