For the record, HB 5182 was about keeping employees safe. The WV Treasury is a bank. We deal with confiscated weapons, jewelry and billions of dollars. Former state troopers on staff asked for the bill. We listened to that staff. Saying otherwise is not accurate.

Our Office works year-round to help local law enforcement agencies receive unclaimed property money through firearms auctions. Treasurer Pack got to stop by one of our pickups today in Charleston with more than 300 guns!

Sad to hear this news. I filed some stories for @CBSNewsRadio when I worked for @KCBSRadio. It’s heartbreaking to see layoffs and such an important news medium dwindle. Radio will always hold a special place in my heart!

On Tuesday, Treasurer Pack had the honor to help cut the ribbon for a mobile women's healthcare unit from Women's Care Center in Parkersburg. The unit will service rural areas with pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, focusing on life-affirming choices and providing pregnancy and parenting support.

Treasurer Pack is out with a new op-ed to support @RepRileyMoore and his federal Jumpstart Savings Act legislation. Last year, our Office transitioned Jumpstart from a basic savings account to a state tax-advantaged investment account through the WV Money Market Pool.

Nearly 8,000 Hope families who have already submitted applications for next school year don’t even know what they’ve signed up for now that the Legislature is trying to put caps on the program. This is bad timing as we near open enrollment on March 2 for all school age children.
