Saturday morning was graduation @University of Charleston. Dr Amanda Barton’s address was awesome “be an encourager”. The graduates are so impressive and full of promise. Many many first generation graduates. Higher Education changes lives!

Lisa and I enjoyed United Ways Dancing with the Stars on Friday night. Thank you to the dancers for amazing performances and the much needed funds raised for the United Way.

We voted! We went to Marmet with my mother Janet. today was extra special because we got to vote for my nephew Will Pack who is running for council in Charleston. Also ran into one of my childhood friends and long time friend Mayor Dave Fletcher from Belle. Check out the plaque

As Governor, I was the first in the country to put real dollars from our general revenue fund into pregnancy centers. That was a choice to step up and support the folks who care for moms, babies, and families every single day. This ruling confirms we got it right. We’re going to keep fighting for the most vulnerable.

The Union Mission Women on a Mission luncheon was a great success. Amazing women with amazing accomplishments. Our community is blessed to have them. I’m proud of Board Chair and my wife Lisa for her leadership and commitment to Union Mission Ministries

I joined Rick Johnson of Inside WV Politics to discuss the Hope Scholarship program. We already have 21,000 students who have applied for the program. Truly an amazing thing. Looking forward to helping these students find the right education for their unique needs!

This week, Treasurer Pack had the opportunity to visit the TLC Pregnancy Center of Ritchie Co. and speak with Cindy Perkins. They have been providing services like pregnancy tests, free diapers, and baby clothing for over 15 years in Ritchie County. Thank you for all that you do!

In fairness, China is the most xenophobic anti-immigration modern country in the world. People talk about Japan being opposed to immigration and naturalization of foreigners. But Japan essentially naturalizes more “gaijin” every two years than China has naturalized, like, ever. China is also an apartheid state. Unlike Israel, many ethnic minorities are treated as second class citizens, unable to migrate internally, get in the best universities, or even stay in hotels outside their home region. Jim Crow is alive and lives in China.
