It was great to visit the welding program at James Rumsey Technical Institute in Berkeley County, West Virginia. I started my career as a welder, and it was great to get back behind the welding shield! As President Trump works to reindustrialize America, skilled workers, like welders, will be essential to building the new American economy. We need YOU to be the next generation of welders who forge our nation’s future 👨‍🏭

America is a Christian nation! This vignette of the Mayflower Compact, which is found on the first floor of the Capitol’s House wing, reminds us of that fact. The pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact in 1620. It reads: “Having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian Faith, and honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the Northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God and one another, covenant, and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick.”

On June 30, @WashPost ran a piece that criticized @VP for defending Nixon’s legacy. The piece recycled the same tired arguments about Nixon that the Washington Post has made for more than 50 years, despite the fact that the evidence has proven them wrong time after time. To set the record straight, I wrote a letter to the editor. They declined to publish it, but you deserve to read it so I’m posting it here. Nixon is an American hero!

This is the cost behind AI data centers, summer heat, and old infrastructure. Everyone talks about AI. Fewer people talk about the grid that has to power it.
