Best thing happened in class today. 1 athlete who has been getting closer and closer to hitting a 17mph (1.20) 5/10yd fly finally got it today. What made it possible for him to get this milestone was the entire class lined up on the turf and cheered him on. Environment Matters

Came across this today and I think it’s one of the most important things that isn’t talked about enough in the weight room: “High performers feel weird in average environments. Too intense, too hungry, too much” “Your environment either multiplies your ambition or kills it”

@CoachRGarner These young bucks come in and ask what the best jump/sprint from the previous day high school group and try to beat it. Kids are evolving!

Freshman and middle schoolers who truly buy in see insane results Just show up and do the work and progress. Bare minimum effort = Barr minimum results

@CoachRGarner Raising the floor raises the ceilings! We’ve got 8th grade boys who have fully bought in on our leaderboards with 9-12th graders

@CoachC_MA 7-8-9th progression is massive for setting the floor. What’s fun is when your upcoming sophomores are hitting KPIs well past what the previous groups did - that’s when sports teams change big time

For context we hit 15/10 Flys for the bigs and 20/10 Flys for the skills.

@MAMustangsFB was hot on the lasers yesterday! 8 guys over 20mph 2 over 21mph And we’re still missing half the team at spring sports!

When you run a strength program you need standards. Lift technique, attendance, attitude, testing. We don’t count ugly reps as PRs. We don’t allow deep ATG squat landings to inflate verticals. We time sprints. We don’t bat an eye when standards make people uncomfortable.
