@soychotic Japanese would all pick red, they wouldn’t want to burden society by becoming someone who needs saving and would all be responsible enough to handle themselves

What I find hilarious about this post is that all the red voters are trying to say blue voters are stupid and that they'll all die when every "smart" person will pick red, but blue is literally the one winning the poll LMFAO
MrBeast@MrBeast

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@imonkeylegend @Brendan9371 @waldenpod From a psychology standpoint the question is more about individualism vs collectivism, and the collectivist viewpoint stems from high trust and privileged first world/western society.

@YuletideFrost Curious how a blue pusher would handle this scenario. Seems like an easy push right?

Choosing blue presents no chance of death while saving EVERYBODY, meaning no gun was picked up at all. Choosing red loads the firearm and threatens to fire on the people who picked blue, therein youd be willing to kill every empathetic person on earth to protect yourself only
MrGamis@GamisMr

Choosing Red may be pulling the trigger, but choosing Blue loads the gun. If everyone selects Red, they shoot a blank. If everyone selects Blue, no one pulls the trigger. Any deviation, if anyone dies, its everyone's, and also no one's fault. You judging and passing blame reveals you don't understand the essence of the question at all.

@psilocyber67 It is not ethical to but yourself in danger and require others save you. In case the airplane loses cabin pressure, please put your mask on first.

I will pick Blue every single time and not just because this includes "EVERYONE" but because if 1% vote blue and I vote red I'm partially responsible for 80 million deaths I would rather pick blue and have a guaranteed 0 deaths on my hands, I've seen how one can change people

Apparently I'm a retarded blue button pusher. But if you're trying to minimize overall death and can't predict how others might vote I think a blue vote is better for that outcome.

@Brendan9371 @CoryRockFF @waldenpod Said as someone who has lived and hung around lots of different people 👏 Betting on EVERYONE having good reading comprehension and being able to understand the problem presented is naive and would just get people unnecessarily killed in this hypothetical.

@CoryRockFF @YZR_Fantasy Humanity’s survival condition is 50.00001% for Blue whereas its 100% for Red. Getting as many toddlers and babies who dont even know the concept of color to hit blue is priority.

A Blue button is teleported in front of everyone on earth. The instructions read “Press this button and you will be killed, unless more than 50% of people press it.” Do you press the button?

@AddisonBanana @waldenpod You’re close. You’re missing one important variable and I guess I’m not doing a good job at explaining it. Simply do not enter the danger. Red: no danger Blue: danger

@CoryRockFF @waldenpod hitting blue will never result in the deaths of others, only potentially yourself. hitting red potentially results in the deaths of others, but never yourself.

@AddisonBanana @waldenpod It’s not a certain death button. It’s a maybe death button, right next to a no death button. Just press the no death button and nobody needs to worry. Pressing blue now makes you the person in danger and you’re asking me to risk my life to save you. Just come be safe on red homie

@CoryRockFF @waldenpod which can be more easily nullified or deactivated by simple majority, eliminating the possibility of death for all. rather than leaving a “certain death” threatening button primed, and hoping every single person in the world thinks the same way & 100% conforms to achieve no deaths

@CoryRockFF @waldenpod would think that collectively eliminating a threat would be better than allowing it to persist and gobble up any who go in for whatever reason. will never get 100% one way or the other. reds way results in deaths. a blue win no one dies.

@AddisonBanana @waldenpod In this scenario you would not be able to see what others do. It’s all done at the same time anonymously, just like the original question. It’s the exact same question, just different marketing

@CoryRockFF @waldenpod it’s presented as buttons. up to you how to interpret, not all will imagine it as jumping into fire. some kids might not understand or choose randomly. same for ones without all their faculties. I’ll still use scenario- you see someone you know fall in, do you try & save them?

@CoryRockFF @waldenpod since blue otherwise has no affect on red win or lose, why don’t you publicly advocate for blue votes in the chance it does potentially save up to half the world, while privately picking red anyways outta self-preservation?
