“I don’t feel anything right now” as the world is falling apart and innocent people are suffering and dying. She gets to live a life of wealth and privilege so that isn’t shocking she has zero opinion about what’s currently happening because none of it affects her. Things don’t have to directly affect you in order for you to feel empathy and compassion. You can be rich and privileged but still acknowledge the suffering others are experiencing. Saying you don’t feel anything just makes you look like a sociopath. What a soulless thing to say. If her husband thinks she’s a republican based on her behavior then she’s clearly a lot more conservative than she’s letting on in this interview. You either agree with what’s happening in this country or you don’t. Not feeling anything tells me you don’t think it’s a big deal and don’t condemn the actions of our government.

@beagewill @CBSMornings Doesn't surprise me at all. A young person still sees the art as something defined by their voice. They care about what comes before, and the process of expression. Someone like Scorsese? Its just a job, and a source of income. You CAN keep the passion forever... but few do.

@TheRochaSays Even though I'm in the right age demo for it, I had zero connection to the IP as a kid, it just never interested me (I was more Power Rangers/TMNT). But the movie looks pretty fun, so I'll go see it. It would be nice if thats all it took, but who really knows.

I’m so curious to see what the takes and write ups will be for #MastersoftheUniverse after its opening weekend. Its tracking does not look good yet a lot of my fellow critics are falling all over themselves to praise it. Can’t be a “summer blockbuster” if it disappoints or flops at the box office. I see it tomorrow night and I’ll chime in with my thoughts on it then. It could be a fascinating test to see if critics can WILL a big studio film to have a better box office because of their glowing reviews. It’ll also be a good test case to prove my theory that influencers don’t affect a movie’s box office in any significant way at all and are a waste of money by these studios’ PR departments. A LOT of the usual bought and paid for influencers have been promoting this movie like crazy. Will it have an effect tho? We shall see…
