@OkoliStephenIz3 @Seuntee_Papa @YhungProf0 You’re the imbecile! Is university education free in most advanced societies? Hatred shouldn’t becloud your sense of reasoning and there are times you should independently think well.

Amid the flood of felicitations following my convocation as Overall Best Graduating Student of LAUTECH, I find it necessary to address the stir around my NELFUND appreciation post. I accept the praise, life changing offers and the backlash, in good faith. Still, it is only fair to set the record straight. I hail from a village in Osun State, raised in a modest family of five. I attended public primary and secondary schools, not by choice, but because even the most inexpensive private schools were beyond our means. Even then, survival itself; food and clothing was a daily struggle. I walked miles to school each morning, while my parents laboured as jacks-of-all-trades to make ends meet. For nine defining years before I entered university, we lived within sight of basic amenities yet beyond our reach, no electricity, no television; just lanterns and candles. Against these odds, I earned a scholarship and now this distinction. In my third year, a coursemate’s father, someone I had once tutored academically, gifted me my first smartphone which I am still using till now. On several occasions, lecturers, moved by quiet compassion, provided me with clothing. There are many other instances, too numerous to recount. So, I say this plainly, not all of us are born with a silver spoon. Some of us climbed the ladder by holding on to every rung of legitimate support we could find. As an engineering student aspiring to make academic history, should I resort myself to blaming my family’s financial situation for my inability to afford fees and essentials like a reliable smartphone or laptop needed for skills and certifications? For me personally, NELFUND was not incidental; it was instrumental and to acknowledge what helped one’s journey is neither propaganda nor misplaced allegiance. It is simply an act of appreciation. Thank you @NELFUND and everyone that contributed to this success! Greatness awaits all of Us.

Tunde Onakoya exposed himself tonight. No gentleman leaks private chats just to score cheap points. Even worse, he tried to spin it like Uncle Ayo was famzing him - meanwhile, he left a 5-minute voice note on the man’s WhatsApp that was never even opened. That’s pure double dealing. Alex Onyia is preparing to take an institution to court over the mistreatment of its students, but Tunde Onakoya is online exposing DMs like a child chasing clout. Then, when people question the real impact of chess in Slums, others start arguing. Don’t be bought, and you won’t be sold.

On this Tunde and Salako’s DM or no DM issue. It is true that almost everyone liked Tunde when he started out, supported him and even donated to the Chess in Slums cause, until he began to affiliate himself with some people and let personal agbada aggrandizement overshadow the cause that brought him to the limelight. I see nothing wrong with a DM that was allegedly sent to him in 2022 when he was still doing the right thing. That someone sent him a DM 4 years ago doesn't mean that they can't call him out now. It's just like saying that because Wike did very well as Rivers Governor, we shouldn't criticise him if he refuses to do his job as FCT minister.

I will never support the LAWFARE being waged against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. @elrufai Let the courts uphold the rule of law by granting him bail and ensuring he receives a fair trial. Bail is a constitutional right not a tool for punishment or intimidation. Using bail as a means of caging Nigerians is unjust, unlawful, and unacceptable. It is a practice we must all reject, regardless of who is involved.

Men and women should speak. Absolutely. But not to exploitative podcasters who are trying to make a buck off your pain and don’t give a sh*t about protecting you or your mental health. You need to seek help in ways that are healthy not harmful to you. Vulnerability to the wrong people can be destructive not helpful. Seek “safe” spaces, seek wise council. Becoming internet gist and a viral meme at the height of your pain is not a healthy way to go about healing. If he was your brother would you want this for him? Empathy is giving your friend a shoulder to cry on when he’s in pain not turning him into a public spectacle. This applies to both men and women. I would not allow my female friend to go on a podcast whilst she’s reeling from a heartbreak to reveal all sorts of private information about her life to strangers. This is not healthy vulnerability! For anyone!
Princewill@ThePakuma

The Nigerian society wants men to speak but when they do, we start blaming his friends. Empathy is to keep mute up and let both parties do however, this culture we have of subjugating men to silence leads to suicide. Dotun and now Roby, if that's how he wants it, let him be.

Cancel Pastor E. A Adeboye Cancel Prof. Wole Soyinka Cancel Pastor Poju Oyemade Cancel Toyin Abraham Cancel Seyi Law Cancel Tunde Onakoya But guess what? They are all still standing taller than your very existence. Have y'all wondered that each person they've cancelled have gone ahead to become more popular and prosperous – Toyin grossed 1 billion Naira at the cinemas after they came for her. – Tunde has won more laurels and recognitions since they came for him – Seyi Law celebrated his 20 years on stage with a bang – Prof. Wole Soyinka got a GCON, the second highest title in the land You overrate your power to cancel people on the TL while others use theirs to elevate these same people. In the end, it turned out you're the minority in the scheme of things

Check the buyers of Tunde Onakoya's Chessboard on X. They are small accounts not big ones. The real people on this app just observe, read & engage in the DM. My biggest sponsorship for my international trips was from an account of less than 500 & when he paid for the "small" supports he mentioned, I almost prostrated on the phone 😭 Build a good personality online ✋️
