Last week, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks. I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a very good prognosis. I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my role as White House Chief of Staff.

This morning, while investigating an unlawfully parked tractor-trailer on Athletes Way, it led to the discovery of a man wanted by Nashville authorities. The 30-year-old Nashville man was found to be wanted for domestic assault. He was arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail. We are grateful for our officers, their work, and our community who is always there to support them.

I love Dolly Parton! I just learned East Tennessee Children's Hospital has been renamed for Dolly Parton Children's Hospital because of Dolly's love for world-class care. Thank you MusicRow magazine for sharing. tinyurl.com/2p9kz62a

Latest from NWS Nashville: "The radar is starting to fill in with more significant freezing rain lifting into southern Tennessee. Expect this heavier precipitation to continue through the morning. We'll also continue to watch where the above freezing temperatures can make it. Unfortunately, metro Nashville looks like it will be close to the line, but on the wrong side of it. Those in eastern Williamson and Rutherford may be more fortunate. The precipitation will start to move east late in the morning or early in the afternoon. As the surface low pulls east, northwest winds will increase to 10-15 mph which will add extra strain to any weighted down trees or powerlines."

Congratulations to Phillip Young who won his recent SCOTUS case, in an opinion written by Justice Alito. To quote Phillip, "We were obviously very pleased with the result and felt all along that the Sixth Circuit had the proper reading of Rule 60. courthousenews.com/supreme-court-…

A traffic stop this afternoon on Central Pike for a brake light violation led to the arrest of three individuals—each with serious outstanding charges. The driver, a 44-year-old man from Hermitage, initially provided false information about his identity. Officers later discovered he was in absconded status with the Tennessee Department of Correction. A sex offender, with prior convictions for violent crimes against children, now faces a charge of criminal impersonation. One passenger, a 24-year-old woman from La Vergne, was wanted by Nashville authorities for failing to appear on felony charges of burglary and unlawful handgun possession. Another passenger, a 31-year-old woman from Knoxville, was wanted by Knox County for a probation violation related to mail theft. Our officers remain vigilant in protecting Mt. Juliet—working diligently to prevent crime from crossing into our city and keeping our community safe.

A traffic stop this evening on S. Mt. Juliet Road for an improper lane change led to the arrest of two wanted individuals and uncovered recent shopliftings from two local stores. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Springfield, was wanted out of Nashville for failure to appear on DUI and implied consent charges. His passenger, a 25-year-old Springfield woman, had multiple warrants—including one from Wilson County for failing to be booked on a prior shoplifting case at our local Target, a felony theft warrant out of Nashville, and another shoplifting warrant from Rutherford County. Both had just stolen Pokémon cards from Walmart and Academy Sports here in Mt. Juliet and were en route to sell them at a trading card store in Smyrna. Thanks to the attentiveness of our officers, their plans were cut short. We’re proud of our team’s commitment to keeping Mt. Juliet safe and stopping crime in its tracks.

We are grateful to Tennessee State University for posthumously recognizing MNPD Commander Anthony McClain during this weekend's homecoming parade and game. Anthony graduated with honors from TSU in 1997 and then began his MNPD career, all the while being a staunch TSU supporter. He died in March after suffering a medical emergency in his North Precinct office.

This afternoon, a traffic stop on Adams Ln for a stop sign violation led to a man wanted since 2014. One of the passengers, a 41-year-old man from Mississippi, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Rutherford County dating back to October 2014 for unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. After nearly 11 years on the run, his time evading apprehension came to an end during this stop. We’re proud of our officers’ dedication and vigilance in keeping Mt. Juliet safe. Their hard work ensures that those who need to be held accountable are brought to justice.
