I am certain that a lot of us have taken benzodiazepines like clonezapam (valium/ativan) for anxiety/insomnia. But there’s a catch - While these drugs are intended to induce sedation and reduce anxiety, in some individuals, they can lead to increased agitation, aggression, or even paradoxical excitement. This unexpected reaction can manifest as irritability, insomnia, or even violent behavior, contrary to the tranquilizing effect the person might expect. This is a paradox again.
