A stupendously long Dune anime is one of those things that should have been done 45 years ago by TMS or Sunrise and at no other time and by no other studio.

@VoidmawGames Those indie devs have a wife or girlfriend who was patient with the first game, but when there was no monetary reward, they pressured the guy into getting a "real job". Only guys who are willing to live like monks can remain independent game devs.

Which is interesting... because once you ship your first game, youve already done the hardest part. The pipelines exist, connections are made, lessons are learned.

I’ve directed short films, and I can assure you that creating shorts with AI isn’t that different.
Editing works exactly the same. It’s labor-intensive.
There’s also an original idea, character development, a script, and a storyboard.
The only thing that changes is the captured material. Instead of using a camera and actors, you use AI to generate images and animations.
You definitely save on human and financial resources. You can do everything yourself. But the time investment is still there. It doesn’t create itself.
If someone thinks an AI-generated short is just "pressing a button" or something for lazy people, they have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about.
They’ve almost certainly never created a short film, with AI or without it.

The US military used to do these "morale boosting" performances featuring hot women, but obviously, it's now gone. Back in Vietnam, performers like Raquel Welch entertained troops in Vietnam through a USO Christmas show. But now...
Since 1991, the start of 3rd wave of feminism, scandals, MeToo, and "objectification" nonsense basically ended the practice. A performance like this in the US military would trigger complaints, investigations, and outrage from the Karens.
The modern USO stuff today is all family-friendly, tame, and covered up. The closest thing now is things like the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders doing sanitized routines for the troops.

@ZolotojKrokodil @Artedeingenio A director of a project pays artists to make visuals for his project all the time. Is David Lynch not an artist? What about Nolan, or Spielberg? What about Hideo Kojima? An artist is more than just someone who pushes lead across paper.

The flood of AI slop shows that yes, indeed people with no artistic ability to speak of will absolutely use AI. Because learning to draw is hard. Using AI is easy.

But if it's the execution itself that makes the art, then AI is the artist. The computer running photoshop would be the artist. Or you could really take it to the limit and say the person's hand, like the actual meat and blood and tubing, is the artist, and the human is just prompting the meat hand. A person who isn't a creative type would just never bother to use AI anymore than they would use a pencil and piece of paper to sketch out an idea.
