Glad to share that a series of high-level discussions and strategic engagements driven by the @EmergingTechTS have culminated in a landmark achievement — the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Telangana, NTT DATA, and Neysa Networks. This MoU marks a transformative step forward in India’s AI infrastructure journey. Signed in Tokyo in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy during his Japan visit, this initiative involves a massive investment of ₹10,500 crore to establish a world-class AI Data Center Cluster in Hyderabad. 🌐 Telangana Advancing Responsible AI in India On April 8, 2025, Hyderabad hosted the 3rd Stakeholder Consultation on the AI Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) — a significant step in shaping India’s journey towards an ethical, inclusive, and future-ready AI ecosystem. Organized by @unescoindia and @GoI_MeitY, in collaboration with @EmergingTechTS, @OfficialINDIAai and @ikigailaw , the consultation brought together policymakers, innovators, legal experts, and AI practitioners for deep discussions on responsible AI governance. This session focused on: 🔹 Translating the principles of UNESCO’s Global Recommendation on the Ethics of AI into actionable strategies 🔹 Identifying gaps and opportunities across governance, workforce readiness, infrastructure, and startups 🔹 Showcasing India's strengths and sectoral innovations in ethical AI deployment The insights shared during the breakout sessions will directly inform an India-specific AI policy report, ensuring our AI future is safe, trusted, and equitable for all. We are happy to share that Agricultural Data Exchange (ADeX) developed by Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Department, Government of Telangana - a first of its kind data platform for enabling innovative services for the farmers of Telangana - has been awarded the DigiTech Award 2025 by The Economic Times under Digital Initiative in Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment as a Jury Special Mention at New Delhi today (18 Mar 2025) from among 500 nominations across the country. 🚀 Telangana’s AI City Takes Shape! 🚀 The ITE&C Dept. (Govt. of Telangana), @jica_direct_en #JICADXLab and the TSIIC Ltd jointly organized an ideation workshop on the roadmap for the AI City at T-Works, Hyderabad. Other key attendees involved were @EmergingTechTS, @RICH_Hyd, @AiTelangana and @MATHAIMl. Development of the AI City was announced last year by the Hon'ble Minister for IT Shri @OffDSB, and this will form a core part of the Future City coming up at Mucherla (Rangareddy district). Chaired by Shri @jayesh_ranjan, IAS (Spl. Chief Secretary at Department of ITE&C) and co-chaired by Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, IFS (Vice Chairman and Managing Director, TSIIC Ltd), the workshop focused on key learnings from global benchmarks and insights from conversations with AI ecosystem stakeholders in Telangana (including startups, corporates and the academia). These discussions manifested in multiple ideas being conceptualized on innovative spaces, policies/ support for tenants, and other initiatives to drive footfall and citizen engagement. We are very happy to share that the Emerging Technologies Wing, Govt. of Telangana has received the Technology Sabha Excellence Award presented by the Indian Express Group, held on 21-22nd Feb in Hyderabad. The Technology Sabha Excellence Awards recognize government departments and institutions that leverage technology spearheading transformative initiatives across e-governance, IT infrastructure, and digital services. The Technology Sabha has recognized the Emerging Technologies Wing, Govt. of Telangana this year 2025 for its pioneering initiative of Mitra-TG app which was launched by Hon'ble IT Minister @OffDSB. The Mitra-TG application, is an AI-powered mobile and web application designed to assist parents and teachers in identifying potential substance use risks among their teenage children. Developed with the support of the start-up United We Care, the application is accessible through WhatsApp, fostering a safer environment for teenagers. The Mitra app promote Mental Health Literacy among parents and teachers to detect possible substance use tendencies at an early stage and fosters a culture of understanding and empathy around teenage mental health issues.
