@MattWalshBlog And republican policies make this is a super shitty time to bring kids into the world so stop killing the planet, do literally anything to stop our kids from getting turned down, give paid maternity leave, and stop bitching about children getting free lunches at school

@MattWalshBlog The infant mortality rate was 40% in 1850 meaning FORTY PERCENT OF CHILDREN DIED. So yeah, people had more kids because nearly half of them wouldn’t survive to adulthood. You’re so wierd.

The birth rate in 1850 was almost 300 births per 1,000 women of childbearing age. In 1950 it was 106. Today it’s 55. Half of what it was 75 years ago. 20 percent of what it was 175 years ago. We need to start taking this problem seriously before we march into our own extinction.

@PamKeithFL Harry’s still like 5th in line tho bc William’s kids are ahead of him. It doesn’t matter if the king is worried or not bc there are rules about this stuff

father (who knows his days are precarious) would only deign to see his son for 45 min after a 14 hour flight. My sense is that Charles is very concerned about the accession. And my guess is that he fears because William may not be suitable for the throne. William sending

WHY did Harry fly 14 hours EACH WAY to see his Dad for 45 min? That was BEYOND strange. They had to have a convo that COULD NOT be intercepted or hacked or taped. They had to have a face to face. The cancer diagnosis was sad, but I don’t think the visit had anything to do

people who get super defensive about YA are so disingenuous. everyone knows YA is a marketing category, everyone knows what is meant by "YA" in terms of content and prose, but you'll have forty people in your replies all, "lol looks like someone has never read a wrinkle in time."

@sheryl4God @PastorTrey05 You literally can’t use “he” to reference God if you disagree with pronouns. That’s what a pronoun is!

@barb_colletti @PastorTrey05 Good news! That would answer the question! You just replied that you identify as female and you prefer people use she/her pronouns to address you. Which was the question! See? It’s not that hard!

@JPaulNorton JFC. A kid eating donuts with a parent should be just fine without needing to kick the orphan in the next seat over for the thrill of it

@corvidlore @emilykmay I can appreciate what you are saying, but I disagree. As potentially "sad" as it "could" make a child without a dad is the potential "joy" it "could" make for a child with their dad. That is what we want. That is the goal.

As a kid, having a different family structure can be isolating and painful. “Bring your grown-ups” can make the kid being raised by his grandmother not dread having to ask if he can bring her to “donuts with dad.” That is not wokeness, that is kindness.

@JPaulNorton Your first thought when dealing with a child who may have LOST A PARENT is to teach them to “deal with it” so other kids’ dads can get the minimal ego boost bestowed by “Donuts with Dad” instead of “Donuts with a Loved One??” Do you hear yourself???

@emilykmay Or, we could tell the child the hard truth. It's good, and important to celebrate Mom's and Dad's b/c they are the foundation of a family. Then say "I'm not your Dad, but I can take you to Dad's and donuts and I will b/c I love you."

@BubbleyBrain My kids can crack an egg and add milk easier than they can measure out flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt, and my kitchen is way less messy so I choose lazy

@BubbleyBrain Bisquick costs like 15 cents per ounce and mixing three ingredients is easier and faster than 6? Who cares?

Okay, this has been bothering me. Why do you use boxed pancake mix? Seriously! Pancakes are like 6 ingredients and most people have those in their pantry. And you still have to add 2 to your boxed mix anyway. Is it laziness? It can't be the "cost savings." Why? Why? Why?

@fawfulfan Because most divorces are now initiated by women and they believe men should have full control over women. A woman who can’t leave is her husband’s your property and that’s how they like it. A woman’s unhappiness means nothing to them.

The weirdest thing of this sudden far-right push to end no-fault divorce is... why? Literally what is the point? Divorce rates are going *down*. They've been falling since the 1980s as education rates rose and accidental pregnancies declined. Why is this a pressing issue?

@HWIDGcast @nathano235 Oh you’re so close to getting it! See, it’s true that UPS can’t force ppl to work for them SO the workers they treat like shit can refuse to work (strike) and then UPS will either have no workers or have to be less shitty! Yay! Now you understand how strikes work!

With the strike EXTREMELY imminent at this point, I thought I’d offer a visual guide to why UPS teamsters are fed up, free of UPS propaganda. This is what it looks like when our preloaders are sorting and loading all the packages for delivery that day. 🧵 1/?

@StephanieQ1979 @KupcakeProse Uh… if an unleashed dog bites a toddler it is the dog owners fault regardless of what the child does. Any animal that would bite a child for petting it should never be allowed near children and that’s why it should be leashed

A man’s giant off-leash wolf dog ran up to my 2yr old daughter at the park. My daughter and I greeted the dog cautiously and appropriately when it came near. The man said, “she needs permission to pet him.” SIR THEN PUT HIM ON A LEASH 🙃

@LinkofSunshine 1) No they didn’t 2) ebooks are doing fine 3) they ARE cheaper than hardcover 4) writers/editors/etc deserve to get paid 5) authors often spend yrs writing a book. Format doesn’t negate their right to be paid for that work 6) *actual* libraries are great 7) piracy is not great

I am on board a Delta flight right now. The person sitting next to me in first class refused $100,000 to remove her mask for the entire flight. No joke. This was after I explained they don’t work. She works for a pharma company.
